Guys, Wy has Noel cut DOTL from the setlist? I understand the Ballad of the Mighty I because he was messing up the solo, but DOTL was awesome live!

You mean for the festivals? Well, he has to cut a bit in the setlist, because his festival sets are shorter than his concert sets. That means some songs have to go. I can understand why it went, it took the pace out a bit, and that's what you need at a festival.

Bit off topic from the actual discussion point of the thread but I couldn't seem to find one for discussing the song.
I believe 'The Dying Of The Light' is one of the greatest songs Noel has ever written. When you strip it down to just the vocals and the acoustic guitar it is just a phenomenally good song. It's like he's finally finished an idea that started with 'Wonderwall', continued with 'If I Had A Gun' and 'Broken Arrow' among others. I actually think the album version doesn't do the song justice, the demo version is far superior because the song is so beautiful it doesn't need enhancing with additional instrumentation or fancy production.

Because apparenty he thinks we want to hear dream on and broken for the one millionth time instead or that useless champagne supernova slaughtering.

For me, losing Dying Of The Light or If I Had A Gun from any setlist is no big deal. Noel's got better songs to offer.

The Dying Of The Light is one of my favourite songs, but the live version really annoys me for some reason. It's the guitars and annoying high backing vocals I think. I don't mind either of the songs, but it was wise taking one out. Two of those songs would take the pace out of the gig, especially on a festival

A friend of mine told me that The Dying of the Light reminded him of this. There are some similarities
