What a fucking match. I never saw Muller play that good before, and I saw quite a few of his games (normal thing for a tennis addict).
Next round against Cilic will be tough. Impressive Cilic so far. My bet is a Federer - Cilic final.

Konta through to semi finals, what a brilliant match. Some bint in the crowd ruined the last point though.

Predictions for the quarters:
Federer d. Raonic in 4 Djokovic d. Berdych in 4 Cilic d. Muller in 3 Murray d. Querrey in 3
Don't care too much about the women's, just hope Konta doesn't win. My money's on Mugaruza.
Also...Simona Halep is SO. GODDAMN. CUTE.

Konta knocked out to Venus Williams. She did well though just a few too many errors.

Once again, its Federer for me. Gutted about Murray - I really like the guy personally not merely because of his nationality - but as long as Fed is in there, that's all that matters.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest sportsperson of all time. If he wins Wimbledon, he will certify that status. We're not going to see much more of him in the future, so we should cherish him while he's still out there.

I do like every other player in those semi finals, but I hope Federer is gonna win this Wimbledon. That genius deserves it.

I'm not looking past Berdych and Cilic. Those guys have given Roger too many problems in the past for me to get excited yet.
Still consider him the greatest sportsman of all time, though. His game is just sheer beauty.

Federer is unbelievable, his grace, his power and at 35 years of age, he was imperious against Raonic. I hope he wins.

That was a horrible match. Hate watching Berdych.
And I fear Cilic.

I have already prepared the bottle of champagne for sunday. Might start with a little drink of it tomorrow if Muguruza wins. Plus, The Escapist I thought it was a nice match. I like Berdych a lot as a player too, so there you go. I fear Cilic a bit too. Let's go Roger !

He seemed quite shaky to me - I think an on-form Cilic can beat this Federer. If the Federer of the Dimitrov / Raonic matches shows up, though, it's all over - he's so fucking clinical on serve. Whatever happens in the final, one thing is decided - I will be crying on Sunday afternoon

Whatever happens in the final, one thing is decided - I will be crying on Sunday afternoon I think he wasn't as much on form than against Dimitrov or Raonic but he was still quite solid. It was a good Berdych yesterday and Roger maintain a good percentage on his 2nd serve (60% points won). It was not an outstanding Federer but it was still a quite good Roger. If he plays like that against Cilic, it will be tough but I think he'll still have a little margin. It'll depend on his percentage of first serve. If he comes back to his quarter final level, I'll predict a 3 sets or a easy 4 sets (with Roger only losing a tie break).

I don't see anything but a Roger win tomorrow. Cilic has the ability to win but he's only ever managed it once... the stars have aligned and Federer's biggest threats fell before they got to him. I was really looking forward to a Djokstrap semi-final as that had the potential of being an epic... Djokstrap seemed to be heading into top form and Federer is unstoppable at the moment.
Without a doubt, Federer will win his 8th title in three sets.

19 doesn't sound right. He's got to make it a round 20 now.

I like Novak. I like Roger. I like Rafa. I like Andy. Some more and some less. And sometimes I feel like I am the only one.
And now, as they are all over 30 years old tennis players, and now when they are more time injured then healthy, we see how lucky we were in recent years to witness greatest era of tennis ever.
And people have spent all those years hating some of these players, arguing which one is better... It's sad really. We had almost every month some of the greatest matches ever played and people coudn't enjoy that.
Now that religion is not that important in people's lives as it once was, I feel that stupid people are replacing God/Gods with sport players, music stars, celebrities...
We haven't really progressed as a society, it's just that in western world today it's a bit weird to still be religious fanatic, but hey, let's worship some celebrity.
And for religious fanatic is not enough to love his God, he also needs to hate other people's God and to prove to them that his God is better. Same it is with tennis fanatics.
Great, great tennis in last ten years and big question what we will watch in next ten.
It's been a great journey but now it feels like last days of Roman Empire.

Great points made and I must admit, I sometimes find myself watching matches in the hope that a player will lose or be beaten. But cheering for or against a team/player is all part of the enjoyment of sports, like kids going to a pantomime rooting for the hero and cursing the villain. However, I would never wish an injury / ailment on a player and sorry to see Djokovic & Murray going through the same issues as Federer & Nadal did last year, almost identically. For any fans of the pair, they at least have example of how Federer & Nadal have returned to winning ways as hope that Djokovic (and Murray) can do the same next year. It's always sad when the major tournaments are missing one of the Big 4, but let's hope they're all fighting fit in 2018.

First time Novak hasn't won a slam in a calendar year since...what? 2010?
I think it's the right decision for him - he was in no shape to win slams, the WTF, and probably not even masters. For a guy like him, tournaments like Eastbourne aren't gonna justify playing. I'm sure he'll make a strong return in 2018.
Can't believe it's probably gonna be a two-horse race for YE#1 between Roger and Rafa. Just like old times...chum jetze Roger!
