Record Machine couldn't lace The Dying Of The Light's boots.

Record Machine is a minor classic. Dying of the Light is Gallagher by Numbers

One's trying to define the light, the other's fighting its death...

As a song for me record machine is great. Shit production. I never found love for tdol. Not even that intensive and great produced in my ears.

Should really be:
LATD vs. RM
and/or
IIHAG vs. TDOTL
Can't really answer this poll, too apples and oranges. And I'm not hungry.

The point of these polls is to compare side by side track numbers. Most stupid comparison. Don't make me find the thread where I ranted hard against that comparative concept many years ago. Ugh, don't get me started!

Record Machine: Great song destined to be Oasis classic, but unfortunately never fully realized and ends up on HFB1 with terrible production by the man, the myth, himself, Dave Sardy. TDOTL: Classic Noel-esque song with his signature Wonderwall chord structure that ends up having a kickass album version. So TDOTL it is for me!

Record Machine. Surprised it's so one sided.

I love them both but I prefer the demo versions of both. I think the Dying of the Light survived the producing better than Record Machine

The Dying Of The Light, easily.
Couldn't stand the demo, got a knot in my stomach as soon as it was announced it would definitely be on the album, but the production and the instrumentation have made it one of my favourite NG solo songs. Great lyrics too.
Record Machine, on the other hand, ended up a huge cheesefest. It's insanely boring and I often skip it. I do like the guitar solo. Hmm..where do I begin? Boring, shit production, cheesy, stupid lyrics (I want a piece of the world and everyone inside my mouth?).

Record Machine is just a wee bit too plodding for me.

Easy. TDOTL is probably in my top 3 Noel solo songs, whereas RM is one of my least favourites.

I like TDOTL, is a beautiful and personal song, but Record Machine is a special one for me. I'm talking about the demo, actually, but the HFB version is good too. Not like the demo, but nice.
