Any chance of Noel headlining Glastonbury instead of Foo Fighters? They cancelled their European leg

Noel's playing OpenAir Festival in Switzerland on the same day.
So I guess that's a no.

Don't think Noel will, although it may well be someone of headline status who's released something this year.
Blur fit the bill but I'm unsure as to whether they'd do it. Muse have also released an album this year but I think they're playing somewhere else on the same day. The only other thing I can think is that they might move Florence up, she's just released an album I believe.
Whoever it is, I don't think it'll be a huge surprise. They leave the surprises for the headliners so any backups they have are probably, by nature, a bit of a safer bet.

They've confirmed Florence and The Machine as the replacement.

Yeah Florence will play the slot. Meh Not a huge fan of any of the headliners this year. Hoping it'll at least be tolerable.

Yeah Florence will play the slot. Meh She's a great performer She is, but when I saw Blur being thrown around as a possibility, that got me a little excited. It's unfortunate that they won't be doing it, but I think having Florence + The Machine is huge for them in getting more exposure to such a big environment like Glastonbury. Not saying they don't already, because I'm aware they've already had a #1 in the UK, but they're relatively new, as opposed to the Foos or Blur, so they do deserve recognition.

Lungs was released in 2009, if I recall correctly. That's 6 years ago, so they're hardly new if you'd ask me. Yeah Blur and FF have been going for 20+ years, if you compare it to that, then there are a shitload of new acts. I didn't realise Florence is so big, even in the UK, though!

To be fair I'm not even attending, but a big highlight of my year is watching the headlines sets on television - I've enjoyed the last few but is year I'll be digging much deeper than usual to find stuff.
