I was just listening to my old Eric Clapton Crossroads box set, and on CD #3 is a song called Ain't That Lovin' You. The organ sounds strikingly similar to Cigarettes & Alcohol. I don't know, maybe I just ave oasis on the brain.....

C&A has been admitingly stolen from T Rex.
Maybe somethings taken from that song idk, never heard it.

that riff probably dates back to the 1930's its a very basic blues riff. its probably ben used in a lot of songs just varied slightly

it's part of a 12 bar blues.. it comes up absolutely everywhere.. another Clapton one like it is 'Before You Accuse Me'

yeah, but all those versions isnt EXACTLY like C&A. UNlike the T-Rex song which is the exact same thing (chords and rythim) as what Noel plays...

ya i know, 12BB very common. But you can link tunes years apart together all the time. Another example is the Stone Temple Pilots' "Interstate Love Song" sounds just like Led Zepp's "No Quarter" when you listen close.
