i'll be there. I've never attended a show at the Merriam and read some mixed reviews on yelp.
i'm sure it will be a great show regardless.

it was a great show last night. the band was in top form. the crowd on the other had was a little iffy. i was down in the first few rows and people seemed to be having a good time, but most of the people up top just sat there the whole time. still don't get the point of sitting down at a concert, but if ya enjoy yourself then cheers to you. the masterplan was incredible by the way, gave me chills

Show was good. I was about 20 rows back.
I'm not sure I would've picked If I Had a Gun to spark up during, but, whatever floats your boat.
Crowd was otherwise fine, it's not a punk show. Crowd is older, I'm older, Noel is older, but, I saw some kids (like 10 year olds).
The real crime is leaving halfway through DLBIA to get a jump on traffic. You people should be ashamed.

great show last night.
highlights for me: do the damage, fade away, and dying of the light.
noel was pretty chatty with the crowd. the best was when someone asked him where he went before the encore and he said he had to check on the Russian prostitutes. ha!
onwards to the Guv Ball Sunday!

Haha - that was me who asked him where they went during encore. Crowd was weak in my opinion. Balcony and Upper Level sat the entire time...Don't get it.

Great show! Highlights for me were Whatever and WAL. I was in the middle of the first balcony. Nobody really stood up until DLBIA--I didn't want to be the asshole blocking everyone's view, so I stayed put as well Crowd was fine apart from a lot of people going in and out during songs... Academy of Music last tour probably had a better crowd and nicer venue, but the band was tighter last night. Noel's banter with the guy at the front was pretty good.

Anybody else hear him asking the one dude if he was on crack? Yep, Noel apparently thinks it's fine in small doses

I had a great time at the show. I missed Noel last time he was in Philly since it was right after my son was born. I was glad to be able to go this time. He played everything I would have liked to hear outside of Freaky Teeth but that was played so much before, I'm not surprised it was cut. Favorite moment of the night was when someone yelled out "Where's Liam?" Noel's response was perfect to that. Hopefully he comes back again.

I thought that Noel and the band were in excellent form at the show. Noel had some brilliant one-liners. My personal favorite was when he went to dedicate "Champagne Supernova" to any Phil Collins fans in the crowd "because there's always one." And we all know we should now enjoy "Prostitute Wednesday!"
I was in the balcony too and was all ready to stand up when Noel came out. But, I didn't want to block anyone's view when everyone else decided to sit. I agree with those who felt the crowd at the last Philly show was more up for it. But then again, I also think that the Theater of the Living Arts is a better venue than the Merriam for a concert. I wonder if he would have played there again had The Lion King touring production hadn't already been booked there.
The thought I'll really take from the night, however, is as I was walking back to my car after the concert with DLBIA going through my head was how it's been almost 20 years since I first saw Oasis perform DLBIA and Champagne Supernova when they played what was known at the time as the CoreStates Center. And after nearly 20 years I still love those songs as much, if not more than, I did then.

great fucking night out in philly. the crowd was good but not great. plenty of yelling and cheering between songs but not enough dancing and singing. could have been the theater setting. the merriam theater itself is massive, it is beautiful but i think it was not the right venue for such an occasion. i thought the electric factory would have been cool (general admission/standing) here is the merriam: everybody on the floor level was standing the entire show noel was very funny with the crowd and very loose, talking about prostitutes and smoking crack . . . GREAT moment tho, when somebody yelled out "where's liam?" drowning out somebody elses request for "listen up", and noel puts his hands on his heart like "you're breaking my heart!" while another guy starts an ASSHOLE chant! haha (is that a philly thing) hahaha i wish it would have caught on. you can see tim smith is very much amused by the whole thing. noel then responded to the heckler before breaking into 'you know we can't go back' you can hear it all @14:25 here the 4 friends i brought had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed seeing noel for the first time live. they didn't know the new stuff but of course who cannot be moved by a don't look back in anger sing-a-long. wow! also i swear noel looked right at me and waved and gave me the thumbs up at the end of the show BOOM
