I HATE the time/crime lyric -- almost as bad as noise/toys from Little James

of course GGTIA is far superior. But i feel its too lennon-eque. heh i guess its ok for a change, but i would hate it if this is what oasis switched too.....would be fuckin mega if they turned it into a rockin love song like Slide Away and DGA

Aaah, the time/crime lyric is alright. It's nowhere near as awful as the toys/noise line in Little James. Not even in the same ballpark, that one really is godawful.

I like GGTIA better than LLAB actually, but only cos I think it's a better recording. If you want to talk about being too Lennon-esque, the raspy recording of Liam's vocals on LLAB is up there as one of his biggest Lennon steals ever (he pulled the same trick on Won't Let You Down). Plus the song only really fills out instrumentally once the piano comes in. They're both still great songs though. Liam has left the dreck phase of Little James far behind (thankfully).

I actually think the music for Little James is really good and really Beatlesque. But yea, the lyrics are shit. I think GGTIA has shaky lyrics here and there as well...but it doesn't ruin the song for me.
