It's very repetitive. The production round it is top notch though, absolutely love the drop in the middle. If I don't listen to the lyrics it's enjoyable. What's wrong with the lyrics? I think they are great.

Sometimes simple lyrics can be part of a great song. Yes, 'Start Anew' lyrics are simple, but they are heartfelt and part of a magnificently produced and atmospheric song.

Start Anew is certainly one of his better songs but I think that's partly due to the production. I don't know if I'd put it above Born On A Different Cloud, Songbird or The Boy With The Blues but it's a great closer for BE and one of his best Beady Eye contributions. I'm Outta Time is probably his best for me but it's hampered slightly by the mumbled John Lennon speech at the end.

Soldier On ranks high in my books. It's eerie with a slight 'impending doom' vibe. It closes with some delightfully morose harmonica and then fizzles out. As far as downbeat songs go, this one is SOTSOG worthy. Would be right at home with Gas Panic, WDIAGW, LAMB, Roll It Over etc.

Then, it would lead to SOTSOG being an uber dark & atmospheric album.
