With the league seasons already wrapped up with Chelsea as Champions, and Hull destined to join Burnley, and QPR in the Championship next season, we turn to the FA Cup Final.
On paper, this is a no brainer and an Arsenal victory all but ensured. Yet we saw what almost happened in last season's final vs. Hull. And, the Birmingham disaster in the Carling Cup Final (2011) still fresh in my mind, too. Regarding both - Arsene Wenger and the team is not under as immense pressure as last year, having finally won the trophy, and this is a much more experienced, mature, and simply better squad than the one that faced the Brummies 4 years ago.
But that being said, Arsenal don't do well when they are favorites to beat the lesser teams - just look at the recent performances against Sunderland, and Swansea. And it's the recent performances which are a worry: Arsenal have turned off in recent weeks as there was no league incentive to get results. And it's that lack of momentum for which I worry about. Coupled with the fact that Villa does have pace, and a striking outlet in the form of Benteke, and with Sherwood really up for it looking for his first ever trophy, I am actually frightened especially if Arsenal start as pedestrian as they have been.
But because I have concerns, it'll be just my luck (seriously!) that Arsenal walk it 3-0. Ha.
This is the official thread for all the pre-game hype, banter, and debauchery, as well as for during and after the match as well. Will Arsenal retain the Cup? Poll closes the morning of the match (May 30th, 2015).
It must be noted: A second trophy in as many years would be huge for AW and Arsenal, and anything but will be seen as a disaster.
And as fucking always: COME ON YOU GOONERS!!

Arsenal's road to the FA Cup Final. Nice reminder that we played good football, bar the Semi-Final vs. Reading.
I'm including Aston Villa's Road to the FA Cup Final, below, too.

If Aston Villa win, the road from Captain Bellend to Sir Tim Sherwood will be complete!
Seriously though, I do like Tim Sherwood, only for the fact he's a mad bastard and a bit of a character in today's stale game. I have no idea whether he is a good manager or a disaster waiting to happen - will be fascinating to find out though!
But surely Arsenal for the win? Nice to bag a couple of trophies in two years, Wenger will sure set them up nicely for the next manager. I think that's the reason why he's actually spending a bit more these days on class players, making sure the new manager has got enough to work with.

Saturday will be a cracker. Scottish Cup final, FA Cup final and German Cup Final with Klopp's last game for Dortmund.
Got the beers on standby with my mates - Scots Cup is first up at lunchtime, so whether I will be drowning my sorrows or celebrating wildly, who knows?

Whatever happens, one of us will be celebrating like a mad fucker.

Sorry to keep banging on about this special connection but I've drawn another comparison.
Arsenal finished in 3rd place in English football this season; Villa finished 17th. Inverness finished in 3rd place in Scottish football this season; Falkirk finished 17th.

i'm more interested in the rugby final, as for the f.a cup arsenal should win by at least two goals but will probably end up with an extra time win.

Arsenal never do things the easy way, expect a cock up or two. (Don't...).
Building the hype, innit:

My parents just asked me if I wanted to go anywhere tomorrow. Ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup Final, this was essentially my response. #retainthecup

Just got a strange case of deja vu. No. I should have been, but I'm not. Should return in January if things go according to plan (which they probably won't).

On the eve of the 2015 FA Cup Final, let's look back and see how we won it last year. In 2014, we ended an eight year trophy drought, while this year we're looking to win two trophies in as many seasons. #arsenal #facup #retainthecup

If Arsenal win this Southampton get to the Europa League right? Yes. (Side note: I still wish it was called the UEFA Cup, such as I'm quite the traditionalist).

At the half - THEO! THEO! THEO! It's been literally all Arsenal. Crisp. Lively. We're simply just playing well. This is the quality this squad has, oozing with class. 45 minutes away from lifting the cup!! As a side note: I've always been a huge fan of Koscielny, top player.

Add a solid gk, cb, cdm, st to this team...it'll be up there with the best.
So Cech, Hummels, Vidal or Verratti, Jackson Martinez. Go for it. But won't happen hence no real challenge for BPL or CL.
