In Brazil, theres a radio program in which, amongst other things, the djs say whats in the charts in the us and UK. For almost a month now, they insist on saying, on a weekly basis, that revolution song is n1 in the UK, and that noel rules england! Now what the hell kind of chart are they looking at?! Thats not even the single!

I've read on webzine of this forum that Riverman is Nr 1 on UK vinyl single chart now. Revolution Song is too weak to be a single. Even demo version is better.

I just listened to the version on the bonus disc of the album. And it sounds god awful compared to the demo version of it that came out around when SOTSOG was released. Should've just left it as it was, Noel. Went and fucked up something that was decent, but not great.

The original demo was better than the so called "polished" end product. Didn't need the female vocals, etc.

I like the HFB version slightly more, but I would have LOVED it if the guitar solo that was on the demo would've been on it and if the drums were a bit better.
What really irks me about this song is that organ that plays when he sings "Solve that mystery"
Btw, did Noel produce Revolution Song himself too? It sounds a bit Sardy-ish.

I like the HFB and the Demo versions equally, vocals on HFB are much better, solo is great on the demo. But see to be honest, at the end of the day its a mediocre song

IMHO, if Noel has such a backlog of "great" songs he's written post-Oasis, why not use those instead of dredging out a 14 year old demo.

Didn't he say it was because people kept shouting it at him?
I don't even remember the demo now, it's been so long since I last heard it.

I prefer the HFB version myself.
Demo is far too plodding for me - Noel had a tendency to do this back in the early 00s (arguably still does, see If I Had A Gun). For example, One Way Road is a great tune but poorly executed on record, the Paul Weller version gets it spot on though.

I prefer the new version as well just because it's got a more upbeat tempo.
