Both were extremely nice when i met them in 2002. Liam was doing the show, pretending to punch a friend of mine in the stomach, Noel a bit shy, but both took the time to pose for pictures, sign autograph and chat a bit.
I dont what that says but i know most other acts aren't that nice when fans wait outside their hotel or venue.

Looks like me, now. I was thinking Paul Gallagher.

I've had the chance to kick it with them post shows, and of the two, I'd definitely say Noel was the more approachable of the two. He sat down and talked with me and my friends, genuinely showed interest in what we were talking about, and of course threw his opinions into the mix. Liam, on the other hand, always seemed to come off as a bit cagey. He seemed more relaxed when it was a smaller group of people around, but I've also (somewhat) witnessed him being outright rude, too. I'm sorry, Frodis, your story's invalid, it doesn't fit the agenda around here... Liãm's gentle and misunderstood, and Noël's a motherfucker!!! But, you look smoking hot today. God bless. Yeah, well I've always been one to buck the trend going on 'round these here parts So you were the dude peeping in our windows this morning?

Just adding a different perspective on this... don't you find it amazing how Noel has changed in interviews over the years? I don't remember him looking this intelligent and funny in 90's interviews, and I remember in the SOTSOG tours, him looking kind of depressed... then, in 2002, he kind of woke up and started being funny and witty as fuck

That is called "getting older".
But I agree, he changed a lot. I've always found him funny though. It's just that he seems a bit more intelligent nowadays.

I think the lack of cocaine makes a difference.

I think the lack of cocaine makes a difference. Oh definitely. Just watch interviews from when he was still on drugs and from when he had just kicked the habit and the difference is already obvious.

If Noel wasn't in Oasis, I'd like to think he would have been at the guy at the counter in Mr. Sifters scowling and grumbling at anyone who buys a record dated post-2000.

Compare Noel post-2000 with Noel in 97 and what a world of difference. He is very articulate, expressive, and insightful. And entertaining.

Sometimes he is talking out of his ass and can't stand it. He always tries to impress with stories that are either true but with fake facts, blown out of proportion, either completely fake. If he was a comedian, i'd like him but he is a musician and telling fake stories about his bandmates is bad. I don't like bullshiters in real life and i don't like them even if they are my music heroes. I simply don't like his personality.

I like the interview in 1994 with Noel and Liam at some festival? In Denmark?

I seem to remember a few stories from forum members of just hanging in a bar with Noel. I think they would both be good people in a bar and very at home. You are kidding yourself if you think Liam doesn't go to the Groucho etc. He has famous friends too. I mean...look at his wives. He didn't marry average women. He married celebrities both times. Noel married regular people both times...which I would take as an indication that he isn't a snob that'll only give the time of day to people if they are famous. In 2000 Liam was out with Melanie from the Spice Girls the night before he showed up drunk to the Wembley gig. There are plenty of stories about Liam from famous people. Noel talks about his nights out with famous friends but he still hangs out with people like Scully at the very least. He said that old friends from the neighborhood came to the Heaton Park show in 2009. Just what would be the point of Noel naming these people though. No one knows who they are. The only drinking anecdotes worth telling involve famous names people will recognize. I suppose the impression I get is that Liam is great to hold court in a bar. Life of the party. I think he definitely warms up faster and is comfortable being the centre of attention...even thrives on it. Which is probably the reason that he does so well with fans. People surrounding him telling him how wonderful he is, how much they love him, and hanging on his every word is a situation that he likes. Noel I feel like would blend a bit farther back in a group and chip in funny anecdotes. Not the centre of attention at all time but amusing all the same and better in a low key situation when all attention isn't on him. I think he gets really uncomfortable with being complimented by fans...it's not a situation in which he thrives. Which is probably why his fan interactions in a forced setting seem pretty underwhelming.

Noel - the dude you can sit back and shoot the shit with.
Liam - give him a little and he'll give you something back. What i mean is Liam, like others have stated thrives off of energy from his surroundings - for better or for worse.
If I went and partied with the Gallaghers. I'd start out with Liam, do some shots get into a some mild debauchery but by about mid way through the night I'd probably break off and sit back with Noel. More relaxing chilling with Noel already being a few beers deep. Noel seems like a great drunk.

where I have always had a massive problem with Noel is he is almost media trained now. He knows what to say and when to say it. Even if he doesn't really believe it. Saying that he's by far and away the most engaging and entertaining interview in the music world or celebrity world for that matter.
Comparing him to Liam, when I listen to Liam I just know this man in front of me is speaking from the heart. It might make him hated by some or come across as a nob to many but its so endearing to me.
On my course of music journalism I have met countless people who have met them both and not one has said Noel is nicer than Liam.there's been countless stories of Noel being horrible to people around him while Liam has always stayed down to earth and I think it shows.

Noel just has more brain cells than poor Liam does, and he knows how to use them. Liam's IQ is probably in single or double digits, while Noel is likely to be at least over 100.

If Liam was in single or low double digits he would be literally retarded. Also, 100 is an average person's IQ, so I would expect Noel to be higher. IQ tests are also not an indicator of a persons intelligence.
