Do you think Noel will ever play this song live? I didn't think it'd suit his voice until I heard the alternative version sung by Noel. It really deserves to be played live imo.

Yes, it deserves A LOT, but no, he won't play it live. If he didn't play it and Bag It Up on DOYS Tour, I doubt he'll do it now, even being the Alt. Version.

I nearly got an heart attack. I read the thread name and I immediately thought he had played at last night's gig It's a tune, definitely among my favorite post-BHN tracks. He should really give it a try but I guess he won't...

He's trying to stay away from Liam sung tunes as he believes he won't do most of them justice, so I doubt we will ever hear it.

He's been doing Wonderwall and Fade Away since '95, tbf. Oh and Whatever. It's Good To Be Free is one he's been doing for years too.
I very much dislike his version of Supersonic btw.

The Turning is one of the best Oasis tracks of the 00s for sure, definitely deserves to be played live. But I doubt it will.
Then again, we got Shout it out Loud, Idlers Dream, Angel Child, Spaceman, Lord Don't Slow Me Down, Digsy's Dinner, and possibly Lets all make Believe still to come...so never say never.

He's done it in a soundcheck while in Oasis and it sounded alright.

I think his voice fits more of his songs than he gives himself credit for. The only ones that I really cannot see him singing would be Rock N' Roll Star, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Go Let it Out, Lyla,...well I'm sure there's a few more...but I watch Oasis MTV Unplugged and I see what a great job he did with songs like Hello and Some Might Say. He doesn't have to change the songs to fit his voice

He sounds awful singing Lyla and I can't see Cigarettes & Alcohol being anything other than weak but the demo of Go Let It Out sounds alright.

Noel's singing on the demo of Lyla isn't particularly impressive but there's a recording clip of him doing Lyla in the Berlin Columbiahalle gig late 2005 and he sounds a lot better.

I cannot find it on Youtube or anything. Link? Yeah the demo is a bit meh, so is the demo of Go Let It Out. They sound a bit lazy, which isn't a problem since it's only a demo so as long as the idea is clear it's all good.

This and Bag It Up needed to be played live in the 2008/09 DOYS tour (and needs to be played when the reunion happens).
Bag It Up: Would have been the perfect DOYS opener (good opening to the album too, mind). Just imagine the drumming outro, as Liam walks to the front of the stage and stands there, in silence, with the tambourine either balanced on his head or in his mouth, starring the crowd down. And as the outro reaches it's climax and the explosion kicks off, Liam swaggers back to the microphone and with a few clips says "Cheers." Now THAT is what Oasis is all about.
As for The Turning: I would hope for some improvisation on the solo as it needs to be longer, and would expect something to be done with the outro. Either way, this needed to be played live with Oasis, too.
Regarding Noel's solo career: I don't want either done live. And I don't think he will, either. He has way too many other Oasis bonafide classics in front of this lot.

I never understood why they didn't play Bag It Up live, since all of the band members cited it as their favourite song on the record in that one interview.
What is it that stopped them? Couldn't they play it? Couldn't Liam handle the vocals live? This also goes for The Turning, which they obviously COULD play, judging from the soundcheck clips.
It just bothers me that they left out two of the best songs on the record but did play Ain't Got Muffins.

I know many people disagree with me..but im tired of always hearing Dont look back in anger and The Masterplan..
Yes he's playing CS now, but i'd rather hear a song like this tbh. Then again only Oasis fans will really enjoy it, neutrals will probably be like 'wtf is this song?'

I thought Noel's take on C&A in Japan 2000 was pretty good. The RNRS acoustic version is brilliant and I thought the GLIO demo was fine. It's interesting that Lyla was always a Noel-sung song until they re-recorded it with Liam on vocals. It's definitely more a Liam song!
