Blur - 10/10 even the bsides are amazing.
The Great Escape - 9/10 huge record, britpop at its best, a bit too long though. 12 tracks and it would have been a 10/10... The Universal, so visionary in its lyrics...Again, some great bsides too
Parklife - 8.5 /10... great start, middle of the record a bit less good, then end on a high. Again, huge bsides...
13 - 8.5 /10... back in 99, i thought well, WTF. Was only 18 at the time but now i love it. Such a complex record. Probably what Noel tried to do with the AA.
The Magic Whip - 8/10... A bit soon to give it a full review, only time will tell, but it's growing and growing.
Think Tank - 8 /10... i love this record, no huge anthems on this one, but the atmosphere is unique.
Modern Life is Rubbish 5/10... Not really ever liked it apart from the obvious singles.
Leisure - 2/10... meh.

Leisure 3/10 Modern life is rubbish 6/10 Parklife 7/10... 16 songs? much better album if it was compacted into the 11 best tracks, would be 9 or 9.5/10 Great escape 7.5/10.. same as above, cut the crap songs and leave the best 11 or 12 and its a much better album Blur 7.5/10.. the highs are real high but one or two awful tracks on this 13 7.5/10 think tank 8/10.. not as many highs but its their most consistent magic Whip 7/10

Think Tank is my favourite Blur album by quite a way. I'm not the biggest fan of their earlier stuff,
The Universal is decent, Girls and Boys is mega and a few others but for the most I only really started to like them from 'Blur' onwards

I'm sorry but mentioning Blur on an Oasis forum is strictly prohibited, on penalty of catching AIDS and dying.

I think the Magic Whip is a 9/10, really good, been playing at since it came out. Might be their second best record.
Really exciting seeing a band making an album like that, that compares to their best work after being broken up for years, even if the circumstances of it's creation don't seem too auspicious. Gives me hope for the Libertines album (which I've heard might be nearly done)

I wouldn't say Blur have ever released a bad album but equally I don't think they have an outstanding album, just a series of good solid albums. I'd probably rank them like this but the top two and the other six are pretty interchangeable
13 Think Tank Leisure The Magic Whip Modern Life is Rubbish The Great Escape Blur Parklife

Parklife 9/10 - Their best album, some fillers keep it from being perfect.
Blur 8,5/10 - Amazing album with amazing songs on it: Beetlebum, Song 2, Strange News...
13 8/10 - Great album with some weird sounds on it, great singles, but they sound out of place here, you get the feeling that they put them here to sell the album.
Modern Life is Rubbish 8/10 - Almost as great as Parklife, but some songs at the end are terrible. Kazoo Kazoo!!!
The Magic Whip 7,5/10 - I'm still digesting it, but for now I think it sounds great, very consistent and the production is amazing, but I can't see nothing here becoming as memorable as those classic Blur songs like Tender or For Tomorrow.
The Great Escape 6/10 - Overproduced mess, half shit and half great. Some amazing songs like The Universal sitting alongside some of their worst songs ever like Mr. Robinson Quango and Ernold Same.
Think Thank 5/10 - Nice mood album, but at the same time it sounds so sedated, the first two songs are the best. Crazy Beat one of the worst singles of all time.
Leisure 4/10 - It sounds like a manufactured band at best, soo superficial, but there are some good songs here.

Modern Life Is Rubbish 10/10 - I actually love this one as much as most Oasis stuff. Great sound, great melodies, no really bad songs. Amazing b-sides too!
Parklife 9/10 - to me, Parklife has as many highs as MLIR but much worse fillers
Blur 8/10 - ridiculously good singles, but some terrible terrible songs too.
Leisure 7,5/10 - I actually like their early sound, and there are some gems on it (Theres No Other Way, Shes So High, Bang Sing, Wear Me Down...).
Great Escape 6/10 - huge mess with great singles. The Universal is a perfect song.
Not rating Magic Whip yet but I'd say 7/10 at least. Haven't actually gotten around to listening to 13 and Think Tank yet...not a big fan of the singles from those two.
Funny how Blur never really had an album without brillant standout tracks, but zero without really, really bad fillers either...

Leisure 5.5/10 - Not bad but not all that good either. Still has three legitimately great songs in Sing, There's no Other Way, and She's So High with first two of them being classics. Seriously Sing is probably a top ten Blur song. I love that track and when I first heard Coxon's guitar playing on There's No Other Way I was blown away. Leisure isn't bad its just kinda faceless, people where doing the same kinda thing but way better. Like Radiohead, Blur's first album is their weakest and you can tell the band was signed and rode the coattails of a dying scene/genre.
Modern Life Is Rubbish 8/10 - A legitimately great album. One of the best britpop albums and features some of my favorite lyrics from Damon. This is when Blur became Blur. Found their own sound and the songwriting took a major leap.
Parklife 9.5/10 - Without a doubt the quintessential Blur album and it is their best. It's a long album that has a couple weaker tracks, but for the most part everything on here is superb. Great riffs and great melodies throughout. It's always a really fun listen although the album has a bit of emotional depth to it as well. It has some of my all time favorite songs on it: To The End, Tracey Jacks, Clover over Dover, This Is A Low, End of a Century. A bonafide classic and era defining record. Can't listen or like 90's pop/rock without listening to this album.
The Great Escape 6/10 - A very frustrating album. It has some of their best material, hell it features what may by the best song that Damon ever wrote in The Universal. I like the zaniness of Stereotypes and Country House, but they aren't super amazing songs. Charmless Man is a top 25-30 blur song, and its one of their most underrated singles. The album is really disjointed, has more than its fair share of just mediocre material, but at least Yuko and Hiro is a pretty solid closer.
Blur 7.5/10 - A much needed change in aesthetic for the band. I love Pavement and dig Sonic Youth so naturally I really like this album. Has some outstanding highlights in Song 2, Beetlebum, You're so Great, Look Inside America, Strange News From Another Star. The experimentation on tracks like Death of a Party, and others make it an interesting adventure. The source material is strong enough, so its not like they are dressing up shit songs. MOR and Country Sad Ballad Man are solid songs as well.
13 8/10 - Sometimes this album is my favorite Blur album, because I'm still finding out new sounds on this album all these years later. So maybe its more of an 8.5-9. Also full disclosure I got into Blur after a bad break up and this album just struck a really great chord with me at the time, because obviously this album documents the ending of Damon's relationship with Justine or whatever her name is.Two outstanding singles in Tender and Coffee and TV, both of which are top 20 Blur songs in my opinion. It also has two of my personal favorite blur songs ever in Caramel and Battle. Those two track are probably in my top 20 as well. Never thought they could have made something like those two songs considering what they made on Leisure. No Distance Left To Run is one of the most emotional wrenching songs ever recorded and written. The album was born out of bad vibes, but damn its an artful album.
Think Tank 7/10 - Not a bad album by any means and I actually really love the vibe of it. It doesn't really feel like a Blur album because Coxon's guitar playing isn't on it. This is where Damon's curating skills can really be seen with all the extra musicians through the album. You can tell Damon went to Africa and just smoked massive amounts of weed. It has some shit material (Crazy Beat) but it has three outstanding songs in Out of Time, Sweet Song, and Good Song. Those are all classic Albarn songs in my mind, even if they aren't true "blur" songs. Ambulance and On The Way To The Club are glitchy and static but they are pretty good songs. More Gorillaz than Blur perhaps but don't spit on them because of that. Moroccan Peoples Revolutionary Bowls Club, Brothers and Sister, and Jets all have their moments and merits as well.
The Magic Whip 7.5/10 - The songs bounce around mirroring certain eras of the band, but it flows as an album really well. Lonesome Street could have been on Parklife, Go Out could have been on Blur, but both are really great songs in their own right. Ong Ong is pure pop gold. Ghost Ship is my favorite off of it. Such a great groove laid down by Alex and I love Coxon's simply but effective playing on it. That slide up in the chorus gets me every time. Not really a bad song on its just consistently good throughout.
