I'm only creating a thread for this because he always says the exact same thing every album cycle. I can date it as far back as DBTT where he said he had 50 to 60 song remaining, and has kept the same mantra ever since. It's just like the stereotypical "fookin' better than DM" that we once bought into until we realized it was just for promotional purposes with no validity or sincerity attached. It's proving to be the same with claiming the follow up albums are almost done. Bullshit. Link: www.oasismania.co.uk/?p=912

Agree. But I will say this , if he truly is tired of reunion talk , best thing he could do IS finish LP and not take a few years off after this , just get back in studio and complete third lp , that would silence reunion talk ........but not in his nature to move that fast

Look, the problem I have with statements like this, is that most of HFB and CY are made up of relatively old tracks that he's stocked up from the Oasis years.
If he's really as productive as he likes us to think, then why aren't there fresher tracks on these albums? Why is he using a 23 year old Oasis-reject and a leaked throw-away track from 1999? Why are two of the tracks on CY basically written by AA? .

Mighty I and Do The Damage were both around during the first album cycle too. Dying Of The Light is 4 years old..

He seems to be lacking creativity at this point, even though he wouldn't admit. live4ever.proboards.com/thread/81978/steal-noels-recordings

I wouldn't let Mighty I and TDOTL off an album because they're 4 years old tbh

I've heard the "quick follow up" stories for years and years. Starting around Heathen Chemistry. History has proven that long gaps do indeed take place for Mr. Noel Thomas Gallagher.

When he says next album almost done he means songwriting-wise, it will still take at least a year after the tour finishes for him to get back in the studio, so, what are we talking about?

Didn't he say She Must Be One Of Us will be released on an album in the future?
Looking forward to the "the demo was better" backlash for that one ;-)

He said the same thing about Just let it come down over me, which I much prefer, but don't really see what more could be added to the demo. However, in the question, he was asked about bye bye my family, and went some way towards verifying the title, but didn't seem to me to answer of that one was gonna get released. I'd love a proper version of that!

He seemed to be very proud of it and said it would be one of the greatest things he's ever done or summat *cough* Stop The Clocks anyone? *cough* At least that's what he said.

I have no problem with Noel taking his time to release songs. If CY is mostly filled with songs from the HFB era, while HFB was filled with songs from DBTT to DOYS, that just means the songs he wrote in 2012-2014 will end up on the next one.
I hope he remembers how 2013 was a "shit year" for him because he didn't do much to do with music - if he just tours with CY, then takes a quick break and starts writing/recording again, he could have the next one ready in early 2017. At the very least it won't be another 3,5 years.

Noel SHOULD take his time!!!
Noel has always had songs on the cooker for years before they are released (remember Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory??) - a lot of "Be Here Now" wasn't and "Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants" and look how that turned out - he should have taken a break - he is at his best when the songs come at their own pace instead of forcing them out!! That is the lesson he learned after "Be Here Now" and he has taken it to heart.
The reality is he had a lot of the songs of the two first albums and their b-side's written before he got a record deal! He has spoken about this in interviews - they were written without a care in the world. Most solo acts or groups is like that before their first albums they have their whole lives to write and re-write. After that initial energy burst things often slow down... Noel got his muse back around the sessions for "Don't Believe the truth" and during "Dig Out Your Soul" they poured out of him so much that he had enough for a solo record. We've had 2 great albums since 2011 and 9 good to great b-sides three albums worth of material - that is more than we had from 1997-2002… He has spoken about not taking long breaks after album/tour cycles because the main thing he needed to take a break from in the Oasis years was drama between him and Liam - I'm sure the wait isn't going to be long for the third solo album - he's on a roll these days...
