MTV has the whole gig recorded with Liam singing. There was an interview with MTV, must be on YouTube somewhere, where he says that they considered showing the Liam sung version and showing crowd shots from the Noel performance. So, somewhere in the MTV vaults is a Liam sung MTV unplugged. The setlist for the gig was the following (if Liam had sung) Hello Some might say Live forever Listen up The masterplan Don'took back in anger It's good to be free Morning Glory (Liam sung) Round our way Cast no shadow Whatever Wonderwall Considering he only turned up for one or two songs at best each time they rehearsed I'm not sure how that could be true. It's a fucking tragedy that Liam didn't do this. |

I alsways say, that it was one of the biggest mistakes Oasis did!!! With Liam it would have been one of their biggest, if not the biggest Oasis moment!!! I mean Cast no shadow, Some might say, Hello, Round are way, Live Forever... unplugged with the two voices...!!! OMG! With Noel it's just meh. I mean, I like it. But not more or less.

There's footage of him singing in rehearsal yeah. Just makes it all the more painful that he didn't do it cos he sounds great. |

Definitely not true. Like others have said, he only bothered to do a couple of songs. Probably half assed versions too.
Liam was obviously the better voice in '96, but I take a Noel sung gig over a half arsed drunk Liam gig anytime.

Liam would have been great musically and great for the band, but it's still absolutely brillant with Noel on vocals. Some Might Say, Listen Up and Live Forever are absolutely perfect, probably my favorite live versions of all 3.

Maybe I can get some help here. There is absolutely an interview with someone at MTV who clearly stated they have the full gig record with Liam singing. Not just a few songs, the whole show.
I'll take a look online and see if I can dig it up.

At the time Noel's voice wasn't as good as it is now, and vice versa for Liam. Would have sounded much better with Liam on the mic exactly! |

Noel did his best and was good enough (even if i dont like his voice), but then, only Liam could give us an amazing unplugged performance. it would have been really huge and a great-timeless oasis album in our discography with Liam in his best era-form...l m still almost "angry" about that lost opportunity.

That gig, in my opinion, is awful. Noel did the best he could in the circumstances.
Liam tends to do a great job on these acoustic things, but apparently he hates doing them. At least he did up until the latter Oasis albums/Beady Eye.
