You get bands with only a couple of albums managing to change their set list up entirely every gig. Noel has about 10 albums worth of material and he can't mix it up.

I can't see many bands doing that, especially if they are touring an album. The core should be the new songs, just the stuff around it should be varied.

Not very often anymore actually due to the advent of the internet preventing bands from wanting to play unreleased material BUT a lot of bands do change the order of the songs around etc.

I have seen a lot of bands and there weren't a lot of bands among them that shake up the setlist a lot, exept Metallica and The Rolling Stones. Probably a few others, but most of them don't.
However, I would have liked him to play something else than Whatever, especially since I find his half baked poppy country version a bit blegh.

It sucks that the set list on opening night was so much better than the current one.

Saw Noel at the Calling festival. I haven't really been paying much attention to what he's been playing live since the first few gigs of the Chasing Yesterday tour so I was hoping there may be a couple changes, it is Noel and setlists we are talking about here so I knew it would be very similar. Well, to my disappointment there wasn't a single change apart from a few songs getting switched around order wise, it's all so fucking predictable, he has a massive back catalogue, why doesn't he actually use it instead of playing the same gig over and over again, he must surely get bored of it?
I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club a few nights before in Manchester and they are a perfect example of how it should be done, they seem to decide on the night what they are going to play, every gig has a few different songs and you are excited to go see them as you never know what song is going to be next.
I am seeing Noel again this coming Saturday in Manchester and to be honest I'm not entirely excited as I know what I'm going to get before I get there, it'll be exactly the same setlist, I wont bother again after this time as it's a little bit stale now. Don't get me wrong, he's really good live but once you've seen one gig, you've seen them all which is sad as he could do so much with his shows.

To keep it dangerous we might be treated to its good to be free as the opener

To keep it dangerous we might be treated to its good to be free as the opener The arena tour gig in Glasgow and RAH were brilliant this year and 2 of the best gigs I've ever been to, probably even bettering U2s opening night of their tour in Vancouver in May which I was also at. I have no wish to see him again though as it'd be boring now with the same set list. I'm done until the next album tour unless he radically changes the set list.

He'll keep the same setlist with no changes and no new songs for the next tour as well, just to annoy the Live4ever community

Some fun figures for anyone interested.
In around 200 solo shows Noel has played 41 of the roughly 130 songs he has released.
So he's touched roughly 30% of the songs he could play with.

His excuse of "If I play one song somewhere and don't play it somewhere else there will be a lot of unhappy fans who were expecting that song" is bullshit, he's jusy lazy. I'm sure fans would be more chuffed to know they were at the gig where it was the only time he played Roll It Over on that tour for example. It's so boring.

Everytime I listen to the mp3 of the Rivoli broadcast I hear it!

He should do what Springsteen has done, which is play some of the rare songs acoustic. He doesn't have to worry about the band getting it right and he is giving the fans a real gift hearing one of his non hit songs a listen. It worked with Supersonic on the 2012 tour.

In fairness to Noel if he is touring the album again in a few months then he will save playing different songs of CY for then. Although that doesn't excuse the same Oasis songs being played over and over.
