Am I the only one who finds it odd that he has a new single out, goes on all these shows and only "performs" *read: mimes* it on one show? I don't find it odd. I feel Riverman is more like a self indulgent single. It's released because Noel likes it, but it's not really material you would see performed on a late night tv show. But the miming thing is ridiculous

Wouldn't be my first choice (maybe not even my third chocice haha) but I think it turned out well... he went with an energeric tune which the band performed well enough (imo ITHOTM, DTD and BOTMI still don't sound too good live), he did the solo and even the sliding part which looked extra cool on camera.

But the Foo's only really hit it big in the last ten years. id have to disagree with that. the foo fighters were big pretty much as soon as they started...and definitely big since 2000. Nah was when they released Best of You then they hit another level. After that that's when they started playing Hyde park and stadiums.

After that that's when they started playing Hyde park and stadiums. errr, they been playing stadiums and iconic venues since pre-2000. id say they got big after they released 'there is nothing left to lose'. altho they were already making a fair sized splash after 'the color and the shape' (which i prefer). they were one of the headliners @ glastonbury in '98 and i remember them headlining a festival here in australia in 2000, and they were everywhere at that point...

Does it annoy anyone else the way he sings 'sure' in the line 'I can be sure' when he performs this live?
He sings it properly a couple of times here thankfully.

I thought it was a solid showing on a big show.
The expectations of people on here bemuse me at times/most of the time.
We want Liam, Noel has no stage presence, the mix was out, and so on.
It's a 47 year old man who we choose to follow. Take the positives and enjoy the fact the little genius is still giving us tunes.

I don't know what you heard, but that was a very good performance. On the "stage presence", at least he tried to lift the guitar and played a good guitar solo, which is not that common to see now. Some of you are just never happy.

Thought it sounded decent, far better than the Jools performance which was a truly shocking sound mix.
Good choice of song, although would have preferred You Know We Can't Go Back.
Riverman's ok but I do find it a bit dull.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but for UK viewers, the Jimmy Fallon show with Noel on it is repeated Sunday, 8pm on CNBC (505 on a Sky box). Sadly there's not a High Definition variant of this one but at least we get to see it on the telly

they are not playing riverman live on those tv perfomances because they ruined it everytime they played it! sad but true. They only play songs that makes them feel comfortable.

I thought Noel did a good job on Jimmy Fallon. I like Jimmy, and he's quite popular in the US, so it was good publicity. Good rocking song, strong performance, and I love the guitar slide. Noel's more rock 'n' roll this tour.
