Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things, but looking at the front of stop the clocks, its difficult to imagine a more stealth looking cover. Dont' get me wrong, I like it, but if you weren't shopping for it, you would be hard pressed to even notice it amongst the dozens of other releases. I just think it could have been a little more "hey- this is an oasis best of" without looking like a cash in...they could have sold a couple million here (u.s.) and expanded the fan base with the newer tunes and b-sides that many haven't heard stateside. It's not about the money, and I love being able to see them in smaller venues, but it would be nice for them to start getting the recognition they have earned around here. Although I'm used to the lack of promotion, i'm a little taken aback from the complete void of it with this one- from the cover to the lack of ads in music mags and virtually every other outlet possible. A missed oppurtuniy in my wiew.

To be honest mate, if Peter Blake offered to do an album cover for my band I'd snatch his hand off.
His bad one, obviously. Otherwise he'd be useless, and I'd have to find someone else to do it.

Are you not familiar with the less-than-amicable split with Sony? I'm hardly surprised that the Band didn't get much exposure or promotion out of this release.

no- I'm well aware of it. That said however, the promotion of oasis in the us has been non-stop shit with the exception of about 9 months during the morning glory daZE. It has always seemed bizarre to me cuz you know damn well that its all about the money with sony and they could have made millions more with them with even marginal promotion here- even after BHnow and SOTSOG. And to the end of them having such a harsh split, they could have easily boxed the thing up like an aerosmith best of and hijacked the shit out of the whole thing. I understand your point though.
