Since many people often say that Noel ruins the songs that we've already heard versions of, which one do you think he finished the best? To be honest, I think he did a great job with all of them. LATD has been transformed from a slow Stone Roses burner to a fast-paced rock song (as much as I wish the guitars were heavier ), TDOTL feels much more complete, RS has more energy and still retains that SOTSOG feel, and Freaky Teeth has quite a bit more groove than the demo! Thoughts?

The Dying of the Light
The different sounds produced by the synths Noel used, along with the overall instrumentation, is just beautiful, and the guitar solo tops it off. If there's any overproduction claims over it, you could just as well ignore them because it really does elevate the song beyond any "Wonderwall rehash" level.

Dying Of The Light.
When I heard the demo I was disappointed, I hated it. And then I heard the albumversion and it became one of my favourites. Funny how those things work.

The Dying Of The Light.
Like The Doctor said, I didn't really like the demo and was a bit underwhelmed when I saw the song on the track listing. The album version has been reworked brilliantly, with the piano, lead guitar and the synths blending together beautifully.

I have to say The Dying Of The Light.
I remember way back when all we had was that soundcheck, I really took to it and I posted wishing that any future release of this song wouldn't stray too much from the how the soundcheck sounded.
Fast forward to the Chasing Yesterday build-up, we got the demo. This was like the soundcheck but much clearer, much fuller, much more mature.
The end product was a great thing to listen to for the first time. I didn't listen to the leak. Come release day, I tentatively pressed play - the monk-like chants at the start surprised me but then that smooth chord progression kicked in with some delightful piano flourishes over the top.
So the final version ended up straying far from the soundcheck version, and I now actually couldn't appreciate that more.

Revolution Song, better than the Oasis demo. Lock All The Doors was a let down

I really don`t like the version of "dying of the light" after reading through comments when it leaked and there were things mentioned like "atmosphere", "ambient" etc. For me it is just Noel ballad by numbers and the production is ok but still overblown "cry with me while you sing along" style. maybe its a great song, but I don`t get it.

Freaky Teeth is miles better than the demo. Lock all the Doors sounds great, but it suits Liam's voice better. I prefer the demo versions of the other 2
