...who would they be?
I'd resurrect:
Ian Curtis - This man definitely had more to give. Both Joy Divison albums are fantastic and I would love to hear what he would have come up with afterwards.
Syd Barrett - The 1967 era Syd Barrett was a brilliant melody crafter and has a uniquely beautiful voice. If he put out anything like Piper at the Gates...' then I'd be very happy.
John Lennon - Yes, his best years were behind him when he died, but he's still one of the all tim great songwriters. I'm sure he would have released another handful of stone cold classic albums and maybe would have collaborated with McCartney again.
George Harrison just misses out.

jim morrison john bonham stevie ray vaughn would love to add hendrix and cobain as well reason no lennon or elvis is they already hit there absolute best ,(obviously left us to soon ) but musically there best was written . morrisson was just 27 and it would have been facinating to hear him age and perhaps mellow ? bonzo simply because zep would nevr had ended and stevie because he got killed as he was just sober and playing at his peak jimi and kurt would round out the top 5 simply because they too were gone too soon and it woulda been interesting especially kurt to see if they still would be considered brilliant as they aged the thing about those 2 if jimi didnt die would he be the guitar king ? and would kurt have been the face of gen x in his 30s when he really loved good pop tunes ? and dont get me wrong I love jimi and kurt , but in death you tend to be held in higher regard jimi was great but he dont sound better than page van halen or stevie ray ritchie blackmore?? he sounds as good but i dont consider him better and same for kurt I love nirvana but had he not died and say went way of pearl jam , would he still be the angst ridden anti hero?? , as he viewed the world thru his daughters eyes ? ....i dont think so personally. and like monroe we never saw them age so we held them so high marylyn was gorgeous , but most beautiful ? no way today she be a big breasted plus size model basically

Although, I think his legendary status remains intact due to his untimely death and the lack of chance to see what a clean Morrison would produce.

How much was down to LSD and whatever else he used remains to be seen.

Jeff Buckley Elliot Smith Amy Winehouse
I think they would all be producing great music in 2015 had they not died.

Hendrix - unlike Lennon ad so many others dudes was on top of his game when he passed and the guitar was made for him. Literally an instrument was created for him that's how good he is a guitar. Would have loved to have more than three albums by him
Amy WInehouse - she deserves a lot of respect, a once in a generation type of voice with an attitude to match. Both of her albums are outstanding. She'd be saving us from all the boring Adele songs. Shame how she went and honestly she deserves a lot of love from people. Her death was a big deal back when it happened but we are still feeling the effects of her absence. There's a void in pop music that Amy could have and should have filled in 2014-2015.
Fela Kuti - tough to pick between him and Bob Marley but Fela probably would have kept pushing his music whereas Bob would have settled. I saw he's son live but what I would do to see Fela live... An incredible talent. Seeing him doing Gentleman or Zombie would have been amazing.

George Harrison just misses out. Not the above two. Ian committed suicide, why would you bring him back if he clearly wouldn't want to? Not Syd Barrett either. He had not been making music for years before he died. If he would have wanted that, he definitely could have done it. Now John Lennon and George Harrison, that's a different story.. And Freddie Mercury.

Although, I think his legendary status remains intact due to his untimely death and the lack of chance to see what a clean Morrison would produce. He never quit The Doors. He told John that they should tour when he comes back from Paris. It's a shame he never did though, as the last two albums with him were brilliant.

Brian Jones. If he had gotten his live sorted out, would have been interesting to see what he could have done after the Stones.

Lennon Freddie Mercury Jim Morrision
Lennon: Legend and also, would have been interesting what would have happened come Stone Roses through to Oasis, would he have quit the music business only to have come back when Liam and Noel brought Oasis around and released new Beatles records? Who Knows?
Freddie Mercury: Amazing vocalist and songwriter. Would have been interesting to see where he would have took Queen and/or solo stuff. Would he have liked what they done with Queen now (the musical?)
Jim Morrision: As others have said, would have been interesting to see where he would have took himself and The Doors. Would he have quit the drugs?

Lennon and Harrison just so they could:
a- Do at least ONE Beatles reunion show or tour b- Redo those lost Lennon demos like Free As a Bird and Real Love but without Lennon's crappy tape sound in the back but rather having the ACTUAL Lennon in studio.
And Kurt Cobain.

Jim Morrison, Ian Curtis and John Lennon. Such an obvious 3 but for good reason! If I could pick one it would be Ian Curtis. We only got 2 studio albums from him and some of the stuff he had coming up like Ceremony were amazing and wasted with New Order who I don't really like, didn't like the other guys voices or the new sound, Regret, their version of Ceremony and Blue Monday if im in the mood are cool but I don't like the rest
I agree it would be interesting to see where Morrison went, I must admit I don't like a lot of Lennon's solo stuff and the direction he was taking everything but him still being alive could've lead to a Beatles reunion at some point
