One of the first things that struck me about this album was the amount of guitar solos and their quality. Do you have a favourite?
My vote straight away goes to While The Song Remains The Same, grown on me so much as a song since I first heard it with the solo being the main reason for this.
Honourable mention goes to The Mexican, the solo works wonders for me.

I really love the guitar work on this record. Especially on The Mexican and on While the Song remains the same (I like those mini-solos between the verses, Knopfler-esque)
But as a proper solo I'd say Riverman's one.

I'm going off Riverman, strangely. I'm starting to find it too long and I just don't connect with the solo in the same way I do with other songs.

Lock All The Doors, Riverman, TDOTL and WTSRTS all have brillant solos. Going with LATD simply for the BHN-like energy it has.

I love the guitar solo in BOTMI, WTSRTS is my second favourite.

The Dying of the Light, with The Right Stuff and Riverman right behind it. TDOTL's solo fits well & adds a lot to the song by really expressing the love & hurt that comes with the song. My only problem with it is that it should've carried the song out into the outro, but it's just fine the way it is, too. The Right Stuff is fucking astounding, and Riverman's guitar solo is made better by that sweet & silky smooth saxophone that follows. Long live jazz, and jazz being in Noel's sound.

Although the riverman solo is great, there's just something about while the song remains the same solo. It's a simple solo but fits the song so well and it just cruises

The Riverman solo is great, but the one in While the Song Remains the Same is the one which hit me since the first listen. As somebody else said, it's simple but very evocative... you can really feel the emotions behind the song.

BOTMI then WTSRTS, followed by LATD. Lots of great solos in this album though - I don't think any of us expected so many.

The fact that nine out of the ten songs are included in this poll is refreshing. The guitar solos were sorely missed on the last record.

We don't need huge show-off solos, but little emotional guitar touches here and there. NGHFB really needed something like that in a few songs and that might be its biggest downside, imho...

I'm surprised Lock All The Doors is sitting at 3rd, tbh. When it kicked in for the first time, I literally said out loud "YES!"

I voted for WTSRTS. That solo just adds so much emotion to the song, I can't wait for it to come in every time I listen to it.

The surprising thing is that they're all really great guitar solos. It's hard to pick one. I only wonder are they all played by Noel or the Stacey brother had that much contribution to the record.
