Let's assume TDOTL will be single (although knowing Noels team we'll probably get The Mexican) and Noel asked you to design a video - what would you make?
I don't have an answer myself yet, gonna listen to the track and try to imagine something...

I can imagine something wintery and sad with someone walking through the cold and seeing flashbacks of his life around him or seeing other people around him do stuff that reminds him of his own experiences or something. I wouldn't necessarily do that though And knowing Noels videos it'll probably be something daft like a paragliding prostitute with psychedelic effects and some Noel who is sitting in a tree playing the guitar thrown in there for good measure.

A video of David Beckham getting on a bus, checking his pockets, realising he doesn't have enough change and getting off the bus looking like he wants to cry. In his attempt to get to the mountain (running didn't get him there) he finds himself waking up on a train that is destined for an unknown Scandinavian country. The people around him are clearly distressed by his olfactory properties.
I'll add more later...

Hopefully something in the same vein as the Do The Damage video.

I think a more simple approach is needed.
The video will show nothing but a light that slowly turns out as the video progresses. The more observant of you will have noticed that this is a deliberate pun on the title.
It's so simple, in fact, that any of you reading this at home could give it a go. Pop down to your local DIY store, find a light that takes your fancy (any will do) and a dimmer switch. When you get home, simply whip out your camera and get that light dying.
If you like, you can add experimental touches to it - try out different camera angles that portray more energy in the lightbulb, and generally just keep it as dangerous as possible.
Here, we see that true genius is only limited by the distance you're willing to travel to your nearest B&Q, Homebase or any other store of that purpose. Thanks.

That's actually a really good idea I was thinking of the video starting in bright colour with a baby in summer, as it goes on the baby grows older in each shot, to a child then a teenager and adult and (in true NG video style) he's walking through some generic old town as the colour fades out and the weather turns to winter. This would continue (with the obligatory Noel slow-mo cameo) until the last shot is of an old man walking past what is revealed to be his grave in snow and ice with the shot completely black and white.

A motif around saving Liam and reuniting the band, of course!

He should do a collage/snippets of all the old Oasis videos combined with snippets of news headlines and news reports of both successful moments and less fortunate moments (to illustrate that he's thinking back on old days). And then do a video of Noel wondering round a bleak northern town as the main theme behind all the clips and at the end of the video he walks into a building, up some stairs and on to a stage to perform a HFB show. (Maybe he could bump into Liam on the street or Liam could be in the crowd or something, just to please Beady’s Here Now)
