Anyone here familiar with Enneagram? MBTI (this thread) is actually more about your behaviour and how you react to different things. Cognitive functions explain why you react to different things the way you do and why other people react differently. That's why sites like 16personalities.com aren't very accurate because their quiz is about your own perception of your personality even though that's not the main point. MBTI is built on Carl Jung's cognitive functions theory and that's where the interesting stuff is IMO. Basically, to be able to find out your real type you have to look into the cognitive functions. Anyway, I'm not that familiar with Enneagram but from what I've understood it actually tests your ego and personality better than MBTI (which is more about your behaviour). www.eclecticenergies.com/enneagram/test.phpI'd be interested to know your results and the correlation with your MBTI type My MBTI type is ISTP or INTP, not really sure yet. Enneagram: 5w6. 6w5 and 7w6 got most points after that. I can't believe I'm addicted to this pseudoscience... Maybe I should go study psychology or something e. Type 5 - 9.4 Type 9 - 8.4 Type 7 - 8.4 Type 6 - 8.4 Type 4 - 3.3 5w6 - 13.6 6w5 - 13.1 7w6 - 12.6 6w7 - 12.6 So I'm 5w6 and when I went to look "famous 5w6" almost all of them were some kind of scientists... Boring!

I vary between INTP and ISTP Type 6 - 9.3 Type 7 - 9 Type 8 - 8.7 Type 4 - 8.3 Type 5 - 7.7 Wing 6w7 - 13.8 Wing 7w6 - 13.7 Wing 7w8 - 13.4 Wing 8w7 - 13.2 Wing 6w5 - 13.2 Wing 5w6 - 12.4 Wing 4w5 - 12.2 Wing 5w4 - 11.9 Wing 8w9 - 9.7 Wing 4w3 - 9.2 So, type 6 - 'The Loyalist : Conflicted between trust and distrust' and type 7 - "The Enthusiast : Pleasure seekers and planners, in search of distraction". So it took ~100 questions to say I'm a paranoid addict

I've done this test last year and I got ISFJ. Now I've done it again and I got INFP-T. I can't remember what ISFJ would like, but INFP-T ("Listen to many people, but talk to a few") sounds pretty much myself.

Bump. Someone just convinced me I might actually be ISFP, not INTP/ISTP Don't mind really, that's the same as George Harrison

I'm bored and happened to think about this. I've still no fucking idea whether I'm INTP or ISTP. Could be some other type as well. First letter I'm 100% sure though, IxxP very likely. Might read a bit about the subject tonight Or ISFP. MBTI is bullshit anyway. e. Nvm, I read this article and I'm back to INTP again personalityjunkie.com/the-intp/One thing that annoys me is that INTP-type is full of people like Einstein, Bill Gates, etc. but there are very few (rock) musicians amongst them. These could be though: Frank Zappa Lou Reed Isaac Brock Matt Bellamy Julian Casablancas Brian Eno Aphex Twin

Boring! Yes. I am familiar with that one. Back when I was in college we had to do various personality tests every year and reflect on the results. Belbin, the rose of Leary, it all passed. Very tiring.

I may be alone feeling like this, but tests like these kind of freak me out. I know that's not a rational reaction, and I wonder why that is.

I was bored again so I took a 'Big Five' test: www.truity.com/test/type-finder-personality-test-newResults in the spoiler... Your score for openness was high, at 98%.
Because you are high in Openness, you probably consider yourself to be a creative, imaginative person. You are interested in intellectual development and artistic expression. You are adventurous and unconventional.
High Openness scorers are more likely to be politically liberal and to participate in artistic and cultural activities in their leisure time. They tend to be drawn to artistic and scientific careers. High Openness scorers are also more likely to have a high IQ.
Your score for conscientiousness was low, at 4%.
Because you are low in Conscientiousness, you may be somewhat impulsive and have problems resisting distraction and temptation. You prefer to be spontaneous and flexible rather than plan things out. You are probably disorganized in some, or even many, areas of your life.
People who are low in Conscientiousness are more likely to develop addictions of all kinds, as they have trouble resisting the impulse to engage in pleasurable activities. They also have more disorganized homes and offices. On the other hand, they tend to be more flexible and spontaneous, and do well in unpredictable environments where they must respond to constantly changing circumstances.
Your score for Extraversion was low, at 29%.
Because you are low in Extraversion, you probably appear reserved and even somewhat aloof to other people. You tend to be quiet and to express yourself with care. You have a calm demeanor and do not get excited easily.
People who are low in Extraversion tend to be fairly independent, and do not need a lot of admiration or recognition from others in order to feel satisfied. They tend not to be interested in money or status, and would rather lead a life that is personally pleasing than one that gains them the attention of others.
Your score for Agreeableness was moderate, at 60%.
Your moderate score in Agreeableness indicates that you are fairly typical in the degree to which you balance your own interests with the interests of others. You are probably willing to sacrifice yourself for others some of the time, but you also watch out for yourself quite a bit.
Your score for Neuroticism was high, at 73%.
High Neuroticism scorers seem to react more strongly to situations and events that have the potential to provoke negative emotions. For instance, they would be more likely to feel threatened by a stranger passing on the street, or to interpret a comment from a colleague as an insult. High Neuroticism people have emotional systems that are on high alert, looking for danger and peril at every turn.
People high in Neuroticism are also more likely to doubt themselves and their abilities. They often feel personally responsible for their own bad luck, and feel a sense of shame when things don’t turn out the way they’d like.
While Neuroticism is not generally thought of as an asset, there are positive points. People high in Neuroticism are unlikely to overlook the perils of life, and tend to be realistic about the problems and limitations in the world. There is also some evidence that Neuroticism can push people to higher levels of achievement, provided they are generally well-adjusted. It seems the fear of failure can provide an important source of motivation.
It's almost comical how low I scored conscientiousness but then again it's nothing new really.

Found this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/mbti/comments/980zso/facts_about_each_type/ My type says: INTPMore likely than other types to study a foreign language Most frequent type among college students committing alcohol and drug policy violations Have lowest level of coping resources of all the types (with ISTPs) One of types least likely to believe in a higher spiritual power Highest of all types in career dissatisfaction (with INFPs) In school, have lower grades than would be predicted from aptitude scores More likely than average to complete engineering programs Personal values include Autonomy, Freedom, and Independence Overrepresented among working MBA students Commonly found in science and technical occupations No idea where those "facts" are from but at least in my case they don't seem totally off Maybe the only thing that seems off is "lowest level of coping resources" while ENTPs (which is the most similar to INTP) has the highest.

Re-took it yesterday and got... ENFP. But the margin is very tight for the the first two letters I could also be ESFP, ISFP or INFP

What I'm writing next isn't meant to be taken seriously coz this is just a stupid, but also pretty entertaining theory after all. Anyway... From what I've read you can find your ideal match by swapping everything but the 2nd letter in your type. As an INTP that would be ENFJ which to me sounds pretty good, until you realise that ENFJ is actually one of the rarest types in the world... When it comes to normal friendships I've noticed I like ENFPs (maybe INFPs too) a lot, I get along with them so well and they tend to like me too. They are fun, interesting, spontaneous and open-minded which works for me. However, I think being in a relationship with one would be risky because they also use extroverted intuition (even more than me) and in some ways that's the same as many of the ADHD symptoms so it could get messy. Many ENxPs are actually diagnosed with ADHD and I find it interesting because ADHD is on the spectrum so I believe strongly intuitive people might actually cross the line and instead of it being a disorder it could actually be a quality. Theoretically speaking I'd probably want to look for xNxJs for a relationship because iNtuitives seem to get along well with each other and Js tend to be well organised with their lives (and lifestyles) which is something Ps usually struggle with. Of course in real life none of this stuff really matters but for some reason I enjoy analysing the world using these weird theories made by Carl Jung

For example, a "INFP" who has 49% extrovert is probably closer to a "ENFP" than an other "INFP" with 80% introvert That's the thing, it doesn't work like that but online tests make it seem it does. The way online tests represent the percentages and letters is akin to horoscopes; a total bullshit. If you take an online test the result is often wrong. However, the types are built from Jung's cognitive function theories and they have way more credibility. They aren't about stereotypes, they are about cognitive behaviour; the way you process information. If you you combine the types with functions you come up with function stacks. There will be no percentages because of the way it works. They're listed from 1 to 4, the first being the dominant, strongest function and fourth being the "weakest" function that develops slowly and gets better as you get older. INTP: 1. Introverted Thinking (Ti) 2. Extroverted iNtuition (Ne) 3. Introverted Sensing (Si) 4. Extroverted Feeling (Fe) There are shadow functions too, which are the opposite of your main functions (for example 1st shadow would be Extroverted Thinking). But they're a bit complicated to understand. For INTJ: 1. Introverted Intuition 2. Extroverted Thinking 3. Introverted Feeling 4. Extroverted Sensing And you can do that for any type. That's why the letters and online tests are kinda rubbish because if you are somewhere between P and J it doesn't make any sense because changing from P to J changes your whole function stack. Your behaviour would change totally. Of course that's just a theory and people with the same functions never behave identically. But as a generalised typing that works very well IMO. e. I don't know how to explain this better while keeping it at least somewhat simple There are loads of information on the internet about how each function works. Anyway... Jung > Myers-Briggs e2. The interesting thing about functions is that people can't really recognise the introverted functions in other people. If someone is an introvert their strongest personality traits can go unnoticed by the other people because they only pay attention to the 2nd strongest function which is extroverted. That's probably true in my experience. I feel like what I write here (and on the internet generally) is closer to "real me" than how I appear in public. I feel like I can express myself better when I'm writing.

I always test as introverted but i think im actually ENTP which is probably the most "introverted" extroverted type anyway. Anyone want to try an Alignment Test? easydamus.com/alignmenttest.htmlI got Chaotic Neutral which isn't too surprising. Although it was very close to being Chaotic Good.

I got Mediator INFP-T
Diplomat Constant Improvement
Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
