I find it staggering the number of people who are INTP. It's one of the rarest, and it's in the lead. I've long gotten used to being the only INTP in the room, so amazed there are so many others.

Just took this and got ENFP.
Funny thing, I remember taking this test before a year or two ago and I got INTJ. Either I've changed, or my perception of myself has changed. I've often wondered, are we ever honest enough to ourselves when we take these personality tests? Are we answering for how we are in reality, or some idealistic view of ourselves, or who we wish we were?

I still got ENFP

INTs probably are more likely to care enough about these things to take the test in the first place. If you stopped people on the street and offered them enough money to take it you'd have way more E's, S's, and F's, and they'd all look at this post and say that I'm overanalyzing it.

I have to say taking this test has helped me to understand myself so much better. I didn't know about this "16 personalities" thing before so I've definitely had some uncertainty about my personality in the past. But now it's all starting to make sense. Like I posted earlier, I got INTP and reading the description about that type is so accurate. I realised I might have some kind of mental limitations but who doesn't? I smiled when I read "Loathe Rules and Guidelines, Absent- and Open-Minded". Yeah well I can sometimes see that There doesn't seem to be lots of INTP musicians but quite a lot INFPs (Cobain, Lennon, Curtis, Morrison, etc.). I found some INTPs though: Lou Reed, Matt Bellamy, Neil Peart and Jonny Greenwood (could be INFP). E. Hmm weird. I tried another site and this time I got INFP (F was only 6% though) from 64 questions. Reading about INFP type I can see similar qualities with me but I still think I'm more INTP.

Thanks again, Matt. I enjoyed the test already last year, but decided to do it again, because some circumstances in my life changed so I thought maybe that changed me as well. I'm still a INFP though, no change! I also googled famous persons who are also INFP and was extremely happy when I saw Morrissey on the list. As well as John Lennon and Jim Morrisson and a lot of other people in music I find quite interesting. There are also some philosphers or writer I find appealing and I actually think about reading stuff based on that list. With Morrissey especially it somehow reveals why I like him so much, it's the identification with his way of thinking, so maybe, I thought, reading stuff from persons that are part of "my" personality type might be enriching and helping me to find out more about myself using different sources of identification. There was also something really interesting I realised during and after the test. When I was answering all these questions it made me quite self-conscious. For example, when I agreed with the statement that I often feel insecure. But when I read that Morrissey and others I admired are also part of the same personality type group it suddenly changed and I loved it. When I looked at the other groups I realised that I don't actually want to be part of any other group. Of course, the test is not a pure fact and there are still differences between each and every person in the group but the tendencies are quite true I'd say. So, for me it showed me once again that one major goal in life is to be who you are and to not let anybody tell you that it is wrong to be like that. People you admire or identify with have the potential to innitiate that process to find your true self and to really like yourself. There is a reason why you like those persons you like. And if you agree with the assumption that like minded people feel attracted to each other rather than opposites, there you have it: you like yourself, too!
"Your challenge in life is to balance authenticity with practicality and find a way to be true to yourself and yet live in harmony with the world around you."

To be quite honest, I think it depends of my mood. I don't even know if I'm really extravert or introvert. Apparently, it says I'm extravert but I do enjoy being alone sometimes, too.
I might be a bit of both.

"INTJ" According to this, I irradiate "self confidence". Wot? I actually criticise myself a hella fucking lot that my friends say that's so much it feels sick. Other than that, yeah, I'm "cynical" -- also known as an annoying twat who's never truly happy with the results of what I do.

Okay I'm not INFP like I earlier said. I guess I just wanted to be INFP because so many great musicians are INFPs. But anyway, my personality, which is INTP, is actually quite interesting. I can definitely see myself in this article: brandongaille.com/44-impressive-intp-statistics/Some stuff I found interesting: "The INTP personality is a bit of an enigma. They’re incredibly intelligent people and although they rank as being introverted, they’re actually more like extroverts than introverts. This bit of craziness takes a toll on the INTP as well, because they are more likely to abuse a vice more than any other personality group."
"The INTP is the personality type that registers the highest IQ scores of any other personality demographic."
"INTPs are the most likely personality group to enjoy smoking, even though they know it will probably kill them in the future."
"Out of all the introverted personality groups, the INTP is the most likely to get married."
"The INTP is one of the four most common personality groups amongst musicians."
"The INTP is always pushing to know more, be more, and do more. They have a thirst for knowledge that is second to none."
"INTPs are also the most likely to find learning environments to be highly stressful."
"INTPs are the most likely to be referred for alcoholic treatment and substance abuse counseling after graduating from high school."
"The most common college major for an INTP is based in science and engineering." (that's currently my no.1 option in university)
"The INTP parent is most likely to treat children as a small adult, which means serious consideration is given to their thoughts and ideas."
"Having an INTP as a leader is also a good thing because it means you’re going to be left alone for a long, long time. You can basically do whatever you want and get away with it unless you are so out of control that you could threaten the INTPs leadership position. Then you’re going to be removed faster that you can blink!"
"They are the 2nd highest to be agnostic in their beliefs in a higher spiritual power."
"They are the most frequent among college students referred for drug and alcohol violations."
"INTPs are 1 of 3 highest types that like work environments with international opportunities."
"The INTP is one of the most likely personality groups to not care about their personal hygiene or fitting in with societal norms."
"Why Do INTP’s Struggle With Drugs?
The INTP takes nothing for granted. Just because someone says that something is bad doesn’t mean that it really is, which means they are the most likely to experiment with items.
The INTP is right in the Middle Class of average earnings and because they logically spend money, they have extra on hand to spend on alcohol and drugs.
Because drugs tend to bring satisfaction on at least a temporary basis and the INTP finds satisfaction in breaking rules, the combination of the two becomes very dangerous."
"In many ways, life itself is an addiction to the INTP. There is a quest for absolute truth in everything that happens. This is why they are one of the most likely personality groups to question religion and spirituality, but they aren’t willing to discount it either. Unless something is absolute, then it can be virtually anything. To this extent, the INTP loves to explore and discover and that’s why drugs are such a trap for this personality group. Truth can be very different, even between two different hits on that joint being passed around. Some might say the addiction is to their quest in life and not any of the drugs."

I've "studied" MBTI and Jungian Cognitive Functions a lot recently and realised that online MBTI tests like 16personalities are inaccurate and full of stereotypes. Almost comparable to horoscope. If you got some results you shoyld highly question if it's accurate. BUT it can be accurate, I've got it right since I first tested. MBTI is based on Jungian Cognitive Functions and I believe there might be some scientific truth in his theories. Forget the letters and focus on your functions instead (they can be found from google/wikipedia). Like I said earlier, my MBTI type is INTP and I'm 99.9% sure that's correct. But when you look into your type's details you should completely forget MBTI and start reading about Jungian theory. They are linked together, every MBTI type fits the Jungian theory, but while MBTI concentrates on stereotypes, Jungian theory analyses your natural behaviour which can't be changed, as far as I know. Every type has its own function order. Here's mine (INTP): 1. Introverted Thinking (Ti) This is our first and strongest function. Because it's introverted and also strongest function, we tend to think A LOT, constantly brainstorming. Different ideas, thoughts, so much weird shit. Our mind is constantly buzzing and looking for new stuff. Because so much is happening inside our heads we are often very distant and absent-minded to other people. In INTP's head everything has to make logical sense. One of the downsides is that we are "cold". Because our thinking is logical instead of emotional we don't really care if we upset someone by saying the truth (well, we do care but we just tend to think that truth is more important). Every argument we have is just an argument though, we never take it personally and we actually try to learn something new from the facts we hear and maybe even change our opinion later. 2. Extroverted Intuition (Ne) This is our secondary function which also supports Ti. It's a bit hard to explain. It's basically seeking possibilities, thinking "what if?", unconsciously looking patterns everywhere. And because it supports Thinking we can be often very creative. 3. Introverted Sensing (Si) This is our 2nd weakest function. Basically, we aren't very practical people. We tend to like theories, daydreaming and that kind stuff. However, we sometimes use it to compare current data with past experiences which might help our thinking. I'm not quite sure if this is related to sensing (or lack of it) but INTPs also see different rules and laws as recommendations and prefer to use their owm judgement and morals when it comes to things that might be illegal. Some might even say that INTPs find satisfaction when breaking rules. 4. Extroverted Feeling (Fe) This is INTP's worst function. Shortly, we aren't emotionally very good with people. From what I've read all of those functions "grow" as we get older. Even INTPs can become sort of "feelers" at some point. You can find more information from internet if you want. I feel like I still don't have enough information and my English isn't good enough to explain it any better E: I just read that rule breaking comes from combination of Ti and Ne. Ne makes us question things and Ti allows us to confirm that we were right (or wrong) when we questioned them.

IRL, I can be both but I must say I'm often a fucking big mouth (especially with my mates and my family though).

Are you more dreamy, like to plan things and imagine stuff or do you actually prefer doing things? ENFP's main function is Extroverted Intuition (Ne) while ESFP uses Extroverted Sensing (Se) as his main function. I use Ne a lot. So much that I actually think I might be ENTP instead of INTP. However, it's hard to imagine myself as an extrovert although ENTPs and ENFPs (who both have Ne as their main function) are considered to be the "most introverted extroverts" because Ne isn't "social". Sorry for weird terms. I've read too much about this stuff on my free time Oh and you can tell if you're introvert or extrovert by how you "recharge". Do you get more energy when you're with people or do you recharge when you're alone? edited.

Weird. I might actually be ISTP not INTP. This article describes me so well: junglove.net/how-to-spot-an-istp/I said earlier that I use Extroverted intuition a lot but I think it's actually Introverted Intuition which ISTPs have. Don't really mind, though because some of the famous ISTPs are Noel Gallagher, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards and Joe Strummer
