This is not necessarily your favorite Non-Gallagher member, but rather the most important non-Gallagher in terms of what he brought to the band - whether it be to the gang mentality, to the song writing, to the instrumentation, to the attitude, to the cohesiveness, whatever....
I'm personally choosing Gem. He seemed to be very loyal to Noel and the band. Very genuine. Made real contributions to being a tight guitarist and brought stability and cohesion, and is effortlessly cool. Also is my most favorite non-Gallagher member, but I think he was the most important member especially considering of the conditions that brought him into the band in 1999. Top bloke.
(I have a feeling Bonehead is going to walk this, but we'll see).

Voted for Gem, but really, the most important non-Gallagher member of them all HAS to be Paul "Strangeboy" Stacey, without a doubt.

Bonehead. The was obviously the main brawn in the rain and once liam got onboard things started moving.

Bonehead, if Gem was so loyal then why didn't he go with Noel when Noel quit?
Having said that, I'm still hopeful we will see Gem playing with Noel again though.

Gotta be Alan White as his drumming was pivotal on some of their biggest hits.

Bonehead. He helped Noel work out the arrangements for many, many songs in the early days.

Bonehead, for reasons already mentioned. And after that Whitey.

I think Tony McCarrol, he was the sound of Definitely Maybe with his rough drumming. Jay Darlington was responsible for ruining My Big Mouth

Without bonehead. The "Rain" wouldn't have formed.
Liam wouldn't have joined and suggested the name oasis
Noel would never have bothered to go and see them.
!!!!!Bonehead!!!!!

If memory serves me right it was Bonehead who was there to write down the chords to Noel's songs as NG himself didn't know their names. Bonehead came up with the piano and mellotron parts. Even though Gem was very important to Noel for Oasis mk II it feels like Bonehead did many of the things Gem did starting from the very beginning of their career and since must have had a big influence.

Bonehead with Whitey and Gem right behind him. Gem basically took Boneheads role but I feel he isn't as recognised as Bonehead cause the tunes were not as good. Gem was also far superior on the guitar. I know that Gem was particularly good for Liam's songs as well.

This sexy beast. He was the heart and soul of the gang mentality of the band in the early days, enjoyed emptying a few hotel rooms, seemed able to mediate between Liam and Noel, and seems a genuinely sound guy.

The one and only Bonehead. As kalas said Bonehead brought passion to the band. He was a major part of the gang mentality, the 'us against the world' mindset of the band that was a a huge part of their charm initially. He also played piano, mellotron and wrote the riff to Up In The Sky. The stamina he showed playing rhythm guitar has got to be admired as well. As much as I love Gem, there was something lacking about Oasis post-2000 general, although that might be the cocaine.

bonehead for me as stated it was his band the rain that liam joined and such n such,,its his gaff on the DM cover thats now so iconic and i bet back when it was all mayhem and carnage he was at the forefront of all of it he just didnt get put in the spotlight as much as the gallaghers

Jay Darlington.
Oasis clearly had aspirations to be bigger than Jesus, but realised the futility of their attempt and instead placed him behind a keyboard where he provided years of great service.
One might even stretch as far as to say he held the keys to Oasis.

gem! he kept the band going i think...he was cool with liam and noel and musically i think he contributed a lot. andy didn't get along too well with noel and i think bonhead was also a lot closer to liam. by the way: anyone knows what gem is up to these days?
