not sure if any other fans noticed but on the 2005 tour Noel Gallagher's mic stand was different ? to me having it this way could possibley harm the songs for example take step out can you imagine noel giving the same power to this song like at wembley with him now being hunched over leaning into it just a thought and has anyone bothered to ask him why after 15 years or what ever it has been why his changed it I think at onc stage noel was complaining of a bad back but i could be wrong

I don't like Noel's new straight mic stand. It makes him look double old, all hunched over at the mic. I preffered the older style. But I think it is a vocal coaching thing. Shame though!

I think he's just tying to be the anti-Liam.

This is only during the recent DBTT tours that he's had the mic like that. I doubt it's a bad back. If it was a bad back he wouldn't be lifting the guitar in the air while playing the one note solo in Lyla.

Is it an English thing to constantly try to one-up others on internet forums as if that actually makes you cool? I don't seem to see that as much in other places.

Irrelevant.. so piss off if it bothers you. Put something useful in the thread or don't post at all. Well i've played guitar and sung with both styles of mic stands. The one Noel used to use is a lot easier to sing into, it's more relaxing but you slouch more. I think it's to do with keeping him more upright allowing him to fill his lungs more (important for songs like TIOBI).

I do think it has to do something with Noel's back... That's also the reason why he stopped playing his Union Jack and Gibson Les Paul guitars... cuz they were getting too heavy he said...

I do think it has to do something with Noel's back... That's also the reason why he stopped playing his Union Jack and Gibson Les Paul guitars... cuz they were getting too heavy he said... He still plays the Les Paul but not as often. What follows is a really boring, in-depth opinion on the simple subject of Noel's singing stance! I like the hunched style, partly because it shows the band's getting older (Noel will be 40 in May!). They can't pretend to be the youngsters they once were, not now that the charts are now ruled by "exciting" young teenage bands that leap around the stage. It could be a reaction to that. Oasis are sort of seen as the respected elders of rock and roll now. Also, I don't know about anyone else here, but I can't sing well with my head tilted back like Liam in the old days. I feel I have much more control over my voice if I sing down. Maybe Noel is preserving his voice, after hearing what's happened to Liam's. Another good thing about his new style of mic stand is that now, he can use it as a slide for his guitar, which is great! Plus he looks really cool, with all the lighting and stuff. I'm going to bed.

He still plays the Les Paul but not as often. That's true but he also said once that the real Oasis Sound comes from his Gibson ES-335 and his Gibson Trini Lopez and that he cannot get the sound right with his Les Pauls... That's why he prefers to play his Semi's... plus the fact that they are not so heavy... I think Noelie is getting old..

the type of stand he uses doesnt support booms. therefore its just a single pole. It is also part of his huge pedal board with it installed in the middle section of his two part pedal board.
