Apart frpom DM all the albums have been butchered by the mastering.
People think Be here now sounds bad because of the production but it would of sounded nothing like that on the master tape; it was compressed and ruined so it sounds like shit.
Just an example Guns n roses AFD is at -15db volume What's the story is at -8db
The lower the number the louder and shittier the album sounds to sum it up. All the dynamics have been squashed and DBTT especially sounds horrible and deserves better because the songs are good.

i wouldnt like to hear any of them remastered apart from maybe be here now, for the reasons noel said how he wished he did it. cut the the million and first 'its getting better man', (making the tracks shorter) hearing the bass a bit better.....slightly less solos, etc.

That's partially to do with modern mastering though, not just Oasis mastering. Are you talking RMS or peak on those levels btw? I'd be curious to know how you measured it. Furthermore, DM was the one that was really brickwall limited at mastering. It's not just at mastering either. There's definitely compression done on the mixing and tracking end of things to.

Your right; but that wanker vlado meller started the trend of hyper-compression during mastering with what's the story(he is notorious for butchering the last three chili peppers records). The rms on oasis was nearly double that of Guns n roses in the space of 8 years and the music industry has been putting out truly horrific sounding albums ever since. I was just mentioning Oasis becuase i don;t give a shit about most other bands. I'm aware that the killers album sounds like shit but i don;t give a fuck about them. I just want my fav bands and artists to have the best sounding cds; everyone else can fuck off. DBTT has softer songs that didn;t warrant the compression during mastering(none do actually) and that album sounds really bad. It literally gives me an headache.
