My thoughts too. It's a pretty good film, actually. But the soundtrack is a bit patchy. That said, Angel of Harlem and All I want Is You are phenomenal.
And here's Numb, for your convenience:

This is my favourite U2 song.... Probably. How can anyone not like this song? This is one of the greatest songs of all time.
Like all great music, it conjures up great emotion, but it also conjures up great imagery also. It's a descriptive song lamenting the changing of one's land in a time of strife - whether it's war or famine. It is basically a travelling song about Ireland, depicting the landscape but, for me, it reminds me of my own home similar somewhat to Ireland, with rugged landscape, purple skies, blustery weather and threatening seas that crash against the towering cliffs and eats up the land.
Bono's vocals and imaginative lyrics are at it's ultimate peak and the music is an awe-inspiring wonderful, texturised soundscape that perfectly captures the landscapes I love in music form. Just like the feeling you get walking on the beach with the wind howling and the sound of huge waves crashing and staring at the pulsing beam of light from the distant lighthouse, the music and lyrics here replicates that feeling of melancholy beauty, isolation and time standing still in areas of the world that are impermeable from the ever shrinking and hectic world of modern life.
It is stunning. It reminds me of home. I find myself at peace when listening to it. And as such, it means so so much to me.
And your earth moves beneath your own dream landscape

I don't have the time to explain, but if only they knew. IF ONLY THEY KNEW!

A Sort of Homecoming isn't my favourite but it is one of the reasons why The Unforgettable Fire is my favourite U2 album.

Do people actually dislike Rattle & Hum or are you just not bothered with it? I think Zooropa has some decent tracks on it too, its a good listen. I think Numb is a fantastic track. What I imagine acid would feel like in a coma. to this day i still get chills whenever i hear 'the wanderer' at the end with johnny cash.

October and War. I used to love U2 in their very early days, but not anymore.

My mum has loved U2 pretty much ever since they started. If pressed she'd call them her favourite band. Her favourite by far is October, which I know isn't a very popular choice. Mine despises them. And I know that's mainly because she thinks Bono is a vagina. But she hates their music too. I'm not a huge U2 fan either, I've got about 10 of their songs on my phone and that's it. Every Breaking Wave is one of my favourites. When I heard that on the radio I loved that, and it made me want to check out the rest of the album, which isn't bad. But I'm just not a fan. Tried to listen to the Joshua Tree the other day and meh, it's not for me. My father on the other hand, loves them. Or used to love them. He's got some of their records and has seen them live in the 80s.

I know people who absolutely love them and people who really hate them. You've obviously got all that right at home. Did your mum really call Bono a cun t?

Dick is more specific I guess. We use vagina in the same way as fuck, just to yell or as a way of saying something sucks. It's called kut in Dutch.

matt and @wadfalkirk add me to the list for having A Sort Of Homecoming as your favorite track from them. Honestly its between that and Sunday Bloody Sunday. Two totally different songs but both are 100% U2. The Unforgettable Fire is definitely my second favorite after Joshua Tree. Both those two album have just outstanding A-sides. Probably two of the best of all time. The b-side's on both those albums aren't shabby either but damn the diversity and beauty of those first five songs on The Unforgettable Fire is stunning.
