Drenge is a british band from Derbyshire made up of brothers Eoin (guitar, vocals) and Rory (drums) Loveless. They now have a bass player, Rob Graham, as a touring member. Drenge will release their 2nd album on 6 april 2015 under independent label Infectious Records. They've announced a tour and are supporting Blur at Hyde Park as well. They've supported Arctic Monkeys before. First single We Can Do What We Want Second song taken from the album. Don't know if this is a single, don't think so. Third song They had a 9/10 by the NME. "‘The Woods’ – the best thing they’ve written". "and cribbing from ‘Rumours’ era Fleetwood Mac on what is the most epic powerhouse guitar solo of 2015 so far." www.nme.com/reviews/drenge/15996

I've seen them at London Calling a couple of years ago and the upstairs hall of Paradios was shaking. I quite liked their first album.

I listened to their first album almost as many times as tame impala's debut. Which is a lot. Great album, it was a complete grower, first time I thought it was a rather generic hard rock, but after a few listens I got hooked.

I'm not a big fan of their first album besides 3/4 tracks, it's a little bit too heavy for me. I'm really looking forward to listening the second though.

#52 on the first day of release on iTunes. #80 on Amazon UK. This it'll end up pretty bad. Hopefully won't affect their career, but releasing 2 albums without breaking the top 50 would be pretty bad. The first one didn't charted at all.
Infectious Music UK did a good job with Alt-J but I think they have something to ask themselves if they can't put both Drenge and Superfood on the top 100.

I really like the new album, more than I remember enjoying the first album anyway. As has been mentioned in most reviews I've read The Woods is one of the best things they've done while other songs like Running Wild and We Can Do What We Want are great.

Remember when I said streaming was going to fuck up young indie bands... I don't know, sometimes yes, sometimes nope. On the "old chart" without streaming Undertow would have ended up at #13, not much better. Just one position I think Spotify is a good platform to promote your music to younger people. Circa Waves, for example. Stuck in my teeth got 1.6M millions streams, and other songs got +1M as well. In this case Spotify helped them

The Woods is one of my contenders for song of the year, and songs like Running Wild, Never Awake, The Snake, and We Can Do What We Want are outstanding
