I don't think there's an existing poll on this, which is surprising seeing as there's a poll about almost everything else.
These songs are both often mentioned being as fans' favourites or Oasis best song.
Which song do you prefer?
I'd go for Slide Away. Liam's vocal performance is as good as I've heard and he manages to pack so much emotion into the song. It's always been one of my favourites.

too tough to call slide away is liams best vocal
but CS is imo the BAND at there absolute best noels guitar is matured the band was so tight , not raw
there both OASIS at there best , but polar oppositte best one is raw one is polished and cohesive
gun to head if not a tie i go for band tightness over liam at best because hes pretty good on this vocal to and the band just sounds better
but honestly its 1 1a depending on my mood

Champagne Supernova was the song that made me truly fall in love with Oasis, and I think it's a better song overall.

Slide Away may be in my Top 10 but Champagne Supernova is in my Top 3.

Love Slide Away, but I love Champagne Supernova even more.
Everything about it, from start to finish just seems like it's on point, and there's not a single thing I'd change about it. Not to mention, every part of it seems like it's bringing something very important and very special. You just don't get that with many other Oasis songs, let alone many other songs, period.

Champagne supernova is more timeless... And the epic solo with 2 guitars and vocals is superb.

There is no Oasis song better than Slide Away (although Live Forever is AS good) Beady’s Here Now ... see the poll results here? Scandalous. Life is all about striving to get the things/experiences that are worthwhile and meaningful to you... and with Slide Away you get that in the classic Oasis '94 delivery. What more could you want?

Champagne supernova is, in my opinion, probably the best song ever written by anyone ever. It's completely perfect, everything about it works, it has Paul Weller on it, and I think possibly a better Liam vocal than slide away. There's no other Oasis song like it. I feel like they were going for something like I am the Resurrection. And I think they topped it.
I love Slide away as well though, Noel's in full Neil young mode and Liam's vocals are sublime

Tough one but I would have to go for slide away. Liam's vocals at their best.

And while it is Liam's best vocal... it's the SONG that matters at the end of the day.
Noel also can do a phenomenal Slide Away (acoustic version at Chicago gig).

You can't do this to me, my joint 2nd favourite songs ever behind Live Forever.
Just because of NGHFB's version of CS I think that just edges it by the smallest margin. Watch the NGHFB version then the Earl's Court 95 version. Two phenomenal versions and both completely different from each other. Also that Brendan Lynch mix that came on WTSMG remaster is superb too.

I think Champagne supernova may be my favourite Oasis song. It really is perfect.
It's a song that everyone knows and can sing along to, which is impressive considering it was never a single (in the UK)
I'm not sure Noel (or anyone) will ever get close to anything quite like it again.

Champagne Supernova doesn't even break my Top 20.

Slide Away.
Champagne Supernova never really impressed me, the organ thing in the background is plain annoying and it's a chore to sit through the whole song - massively overrated.
