If the Greatest Song the world has never heard was by The La's I highly doubt it was Something I Said as the OP posted. I'd go with the beautiful ballad Tears in the Rain. It's ridiculously good. By the way, here's probably the best quality version of The Kitchen Tape by The La's including the songs mentioned before and some others. The way he just sings the guitar solo, note perfect, it's magical. The only unreleased La's song that actually sounds complete. I'm quite fond of the 1986 Rehearsal of Tears In The Rain as well, even though it's basically a different song.

I love Your Protector and Helplessness Blues. Alsos The Shrine/ An Argument is great I think Fleet Foxes have claim to be one of the most underrated bands of all time. Both their albums are classics without being heralded really. Shame.

Love them. They're definitely one of those bands that deserve to be more well known and that deserve more praise.

Long been a live standard for the Black Crowes but never properly released in studio form. This is a leaked outtake from the Tall sessions that never came out.

This is an amazing unreleased song by The Boss which is probably his best unreleased song. I love it more than the unrelated classic Cover Me and I can't fathom how it was rejected for BITUSA, let alone Tracks.
And this is an unreleased Radiohead song that is infamous among fans....it just screams "top ten single" yet never was considered for a single release.
Quite a lovely song that for whatever reason never showed up again on an album.
Keane's best song was hidden away on a b-side FFS.
This insanely savage song by Embrace was only released on their first EP....and they even re-recorded a version which is more widely available but all of the chaos of the guitars was lost on that version....

Girls Aloud - Memory Of YouThey're a bit like Oasis - in pop music - when it comes to the B-sides. Before anyone says anything! Noel himself said "he doesn't mind Girls Aloud" and we all know Liam met them and was really nice to them from the LDSMD documentary. I realize it's somewhat an unpopular opinion around here, but they were truly something amazing.

Amazing song from a rather average band that never really went anywhere. Brilliant lyrics, guitars, harmonies, this is just an all round great piece of music.
