TFI Friday is coming back. (June 12th) At least for one show.....and possibly more to follow.
Noel may make an appearance most likely at some point.
Here is a video way back from 5 April 1996. 19 years ago!!

Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has revealed that he has not spoken to Noel Gallagher since he criticised Oasis' 1997 album 'Be Here Now'.
Evans famously mocked the album on his former Channel 4 TV show TFI Friday shortly after its release by pretending to resuscitate it using a defibrillator.
He revealed Gallagher had not taken kindly to the joke as he appeared alongside friend Zoe Ball on Radio 2's 2DAY earlier today (June 22).
“When 'Be Here Now' came out we were all so disappointed with the album we opened up a TFI Friday with a defibrillator trying to resuscitate it and give the album some life – he saw the joke and has never spoken to me since.”
Evans told Ball that Gallagher had since “admitted it was a terrible album”, but said he had given up hopes of being forgiven.
“No never gonna happen, doesn’t matter,” he said, before adding that he was now in the camp of Gallagher's former Oasis bandmate and brother, Liam.
But then again this is the same Noel Gallagher who said he would never play the O2 after watching Led Zeppelin......

Won't happen, just can't see it. Noel wouldn't drop himself to do the show

Chris Evans can be at times both irritating and brilliant. His joke was never one that a coke head with a massive ego was going to accept. Another Liam fan though, could do with him on here! Haha.

HAHAHA.
Um, TFI Friday - well considering some of the other "HORRENDOUS" chat shows he has been on, I think it would show some more respect to his fans to be on TFI Friday.
However, Noel just didn't want to know the "Truth" about Be Here Now - it was a disappointment. And since he has admitted that - maybe he can forget about all that.
I doubt Noel is so "wound up" about it he wouldn't go on the show again. It will be a big hit (especially with what tv is like these days).
And Noel has mentioned before also how much he would like to sell an album for 7 million copies again.
So - if he thinks it will raise the sales of his record, he will do it and in a tour as well. And of course a live performance too.
This will of course make the show worth watching much more - and that is why I posted this topic.

Hmm, didn't Noel once say that Evans slagged off Meg Matthews whilst Noel was with her and that was why he never spoke to him again? Fairly sure that Noels's said before something along the lines of that if he falls out with people then they're done for good so that would make sense if so.

I doubt that would stop him coming on TFI Friday. Chris Evans has a job to do and that is to entertain people, Be Here Now deserves all the criticism it gets anyway.

Evans and Noel have massive egos. They're both too similar in that sense to get on.

Adam - Yes it seems odd it was that long ago, I can't believe 2005 was already 10 years ago....it doesn't seem like 10. And this doesn't seem like 19 really either... Maybe that is because since the 90s everything has been crap? lol

Maybe that is because since the 90s everything has been crap? lol I remember that episode particularly as (I believe) it was Good Friday 1996(?) and therefore filmed at Chris Evans' home instead of the studio. I was 17 years old and watched it at my cousin's. I got excited at the prospect of Noel playing new Oasis songs and the titles stuck in my head with anticipation. It's funny watching it back, looking at the fashions and seeing a young Noel full of swagger and arrogance. As much as I'd love to be stuck in the 90's - it was a great decade - I prefer to be in the here and now and enjoying the moment. Otherwise, you become old before your time and bitter towards change. There's great music out there waiting to be found. There are many threads on here with plenty of recommendations of non-Gallagher related musicians / bands which you should take a look at it. It'll only enhance your music collection and there's always the old classics to fall back on whenever you want to reminisce.

Mmmm, well Oasis to me aren't an old band by a long way yet.
I think they wasted the last 10 years a lot, they should of been doing something more creative with their time, rather than just churning out mundane albums.
The main reason the 90s is looked better upon now with music is because it was far more original - there is nothing else around making an impact at all.
I thought maybe after Heathen Chemistry they'd get their creativeness back a bit, but they just went for 60s nostalgia. Which wasn't what I wanted to hear from them.
I am not sure Gem and Andy Bell are the best people for the band either. And after Allan White left, and they didn't have a reliable drummer it all went downhill terribly.
The sad thing about the 90s is...people who lived through the 80s, in Britain probably thought things were changing for the better - but look at it now.
That is what annoys me about it. Nothing was learned from the 90s.....but then again from what I know so many people in bands and like were taking drugs.
Damon Albarn from Blur has said "People were not thinking about the consequences"
and Noel has also said "He thinks the record labels brought into Creation records and indie music labels so they could stomp it out"
And that is what they've done. So now we have to start all over again, particularly if your a band.

TFI Friday will not do much in the way of numbers/viewers imo. Chris Evans is a bit of a maverick and clearly had a great deal of talent, but although his radio career has ambled on with some success he is very far away from being relevant enough as to whip up enough interest to make any sort of impact.
Now if Jeremy Clarkson defected to let's say ITV and did a loose, Badiel and Skinner type chat show based around current affairs and the press and all the other bits... That would work as he is far more engaging (regardless of people's opinions of him).

I find Jeremy Clarkson boring as anything. He says the same thing over and over. Although - he does a good car documentary I'll give him that.
Can't stand Top Gear at all.
I read Chris Evans first book. Pretty funny - how he started his radio career making the tea. But before he made the tea he followed a DJ to his studio and house I think, then worked out what time he went on air, so he could interview him with a big old clunky tape recorder, pretending he was someone from another radio channel. HAHA.
Might have to read his second book I suppose now. If I can be bothered forking out the money.

Not happening.
Noel has always disliked Evans, dating back to the Brits in 1996.
Further more, TFI Friday ain't gonna have the same impact as it did back in the day.

Um, I think it will be even more popular than then. Maybe not quite in the same way, but....there is plenty of bands that could go on it which would be better than some of the other music around when it was on for 5 years. At least it will be a decent show to watch....I can't stand Graham Norton, that show is just awful. And they have all these drongo celebrities on it each week. Ugh..makes me sick. Jonathan Ross is crap, and Allan Carr is okay, but hardly much better. He is better off doing stand up comedy as far as I am concerned. Come to think of it, ALL TV IS manure. I liked Jonathan Creek but that has turned to rubbish, the only show I ever thought that was worth watching. I welcome back TFI Friday with open arms. Chris Evans started OFI Sunday back in late 2005 but after 3 weeks it got cancelled cause it was so bad. But I think they were being to harsh. I get why people don't like Chris Evans but...in reality - he is all there is. lol

Well at least the show Won't be Fake, I have to say OFI Sunday looked a bit fake. Still better than other tv shows though - and that is why I don't watch tv.
