The Coral Thread on here bought up memories of other Liverpool band who hit it bigger then the far better The Coral around 2005/06, The Zutons, always thought their debut album who killed the zutons? was a pretty solid album from start to finish but it wasn't until the rather patchy second album Tired of Hanging Around and the Single Valerie (it became bigger with the Amy Winehouse version, actually that version is one of the rare cases that the cover actually tops it) but that song did stay around the charts for a while back 2006 that they became a decent sized band. The third album You can Do Anything was a massive disappointment and flopped. They disappeared after that and haven't been heard of since (I know the Bassist is in Noel Gallaghers band and Dave McCabe the singer and songwriter writes with Mark Ronson).
But the one thing many guys especially remember is the female saxophone player Abi Harding, she really was a amazing stage presence for the band and was hot to boot as well.
So what did everyone think of these guys?

The Zutons have some class tunes. Dave McCabe has a new thing on the go, just released this tune the other week, not what I expected at all!

I've not heard the first album apart from the Havana Rumble song but I really do like the 2nd album. It's not a masterpiece or anything but it is a good record to my ears and reminds me of a road trip to Chicago with my best friend nearly 10 years ago. Also listened to DBTT a lot on the way.
