I think most of their later albums are masterpieces, but my favourite is Revolver.

Revolver for me as well.
It's incredible to think that there's only three years between a song like Please Please Me and Tomorrow Never Knows. That's an almighty progression.

I go for The White Album myself but I love everything from Rubber Soul up to Abbey Road, all 5 star albums. It's amazing to think how much they changed in those short years. Best Band ever, no ifs or buts.

I went Revolver but I could have easily have gone with Rubber Soul too. The album that made Brian Wilson push himself to outdo the Beatles with Pet Sounds. Rubber Soul is sadly neglected in some ways, It's their first outright classic album (Hard Days Night was the nearest to one before that). Lennon was on fire during that album, Nowhere Man, In My Life, The Word and Norweigan Wood. What's Goes on could have been taken off as I hate that track. They meant business from then on in.

I've never gotten how Rubber Soul could be someone's favorite Beatles album. I really like it but it's kind of bland to me in certain spots, but still has the greats like In My Life and Norweigan Wood. I think I'd go with Revolver

Indeed, he was so damn good on that album you even forgot 'Girl', one of the best tracks on there for me.

I think I'd go with Revolver To me it sounds even more of a finished product than Revolver. Few weak links. Everyone's songwriting is top notch and the emergence of Harrison began here. On Revolver the back to back songs of "Here, There and Everywhere" and "Yellow Submarine" are kinda speed bumps for me.

Sgt. Pepper is probably my favorite.
Rubber Soul is the most underrated.
Abbey Road is the most overrated IMO. A lot of filler for an album that gets perfect scores everywhere (though it's still a great album).

Need to give a little love to A Hard Days Night here.
I think that is their first true masterpiece. It's a masterpiece of completely different proportions from the creativity and originality of their later works, but to any budding songwriter wanting to hear the sound of perfectly constructed 3 minute pop songs, this would be the one to go for. No denying that some of their finest pop songs feature on the first two albums but the wee rare awkward cover song stop the albums in their tracks. As a collection, this is the most honest and pure representation of Beatlemania.

abbey road for me, as revolutionary as revolver & sgt pepper were abbey road is the one that works best as an album imo, it's just incredible, as is pretty much everything they put out really That second half is the greatest music suite ever, just musical perfection. Also love George Harrison's Here Comes The Sun and Something are some of the best stuff he did. I Want You (She's So Heavy) is one of Lennon's most underrated works and Come Together is one of the best Rockers ever. The Vocals on Because are a thing of Beauty and You Never Give Me you money is one of Paul's more biting tracks. But I'm not a fan of Octupus Garden or Maxwells Silver Hammer, they are not awful by any means just drag the album down for me. I still chose two or three of their other albums over it but its a Classic just for 2nd side alone. Another album I love is Magical Mystery Tour, I think the U.S Release with the Singles from 67 on it is a top notch album. I Am the Warlus, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, All you need is Love, Hello Goodbye and Fool on the Hill. All Classic's. To anyone calling Rubber Soul "average" need a musical slap across the head.

Abbey Road is the most overrated IMO. A lot of filler for an album that gets perfect scores everywhere (though it's still a great album). It's not perfect but it's my favorite. It's the the first Beatles album I ever bought and I'm still blown away by the medley. Can't listen to Maxells Silver Hammer anymore though. To me Sgt Peppers is the overrated album. It's still great but it's gets more attention because of the change in style over the songs. The White Album might have my favorite collection of songs but there is too many bad songs on it too.

I don't get the love for Revolver over Rubber Soul. I love both but Rubber Soul clearly has the better songs. Norwegian Wood, Michelle and In My Life are some of the greatest songs ever to caressed a human ear.
