Voted for the first one, except I'm not religious about it. I do get disappointed when others get rid of songs I like, though.

I don't understand why people are so bothered by threads. Same goes for the chart threads. If they don't interest you, why bother looking in them? Why would you do that to yourself?

I think they have been a relatively entertaining topic, however tracks which are a little more controversial and considered 'marmite' tracks, are at a big disadvantage.
Now I can't remember the standing of the Be Here Now thread, but I'd imagine 'Magic Pie' probably didn't fly for long, despite many considering it a better track on the album. Likewise a song like 'Force of Nature'. AKA... The sort of songs seem to attract negative attention, that leaves before moving onto more forgettable tracks which really ought to be voted off first. Food for though...

Had the competition been a popularity poll instead (as in you voted for your favourite few) I'd be very surprised if 'Magic Pie' was listed second to bottom. It's certainly far from it, to my ears at least. Going off the most recent thread 'Step Out' definitely seems to be in this camp too! Top 3 on the list to me! |
