Wind Up Dream and The Mexican are similar, they are both utterly fucking awful.

That's how you think of me because it fits for you and others. Anyone is free to ask my opinion on what I don't like, I've never hidden it. For Anyone is also shockingly bad. If I never hear that, Wind Up Dream or The Mexican again I wouldn't be to bothered. Ahh well, I'm sure neither of us will lose any sleep if you can't unblock me.

YKWCGB rips off I Hope I Think I Know quite shamelessly. Beady Eye? Don't hear it at all.

Noel inspired by Beady Eye? Please tell me you're having a laugh.
I'm pretty sure no one is inspired by the failure that is Beady Eye. Unless someone is interested in making a complete abortion of an album, that will immediately bomb both critically and commercially, then sure Beady Eye can be a source of inspiration. DGSS can be the blueprint for such an endeavour in fact.

Here's the similar parts of TMOS and YKWCGB (the lyrics and rhythm): instaud.io/5O1

Here's the similar parts of TMOS and YKWCGB (the lyrics and rhythm): instaud.io/5O1Add in a clip of I Hope I Think I Know with the "I hope, I think I knooooowww if I ever hear the naaaammeess you call" & then YKWCGB after it, and all of that will make complete sense.

My first impression of The Mexican was it sounded like Beady Eyes Wind Up Dream, if it had been written by a good songwriter. Similar kind of chunky rhythm guitars and some slightly interesting percussion in common too.
Both also happen to probably be my least favorite tracks on their respective albums.
But to the initial post, very unlikely that noel was inspired by Beady EYe, although it's possible.. subconsciously, or maybe he heard beady eyes DGSS and thought " i could write a song like that with my eyes closed" type of thing...

Honestly if The Mexican was sung by Liam (and was an Oasis song etc.), I would probably assume it was written by Gem. So, I see the similarity.
I'm not saying Noel took inspiration from Beady Eye, but I do find it interesting that he released a slightly more experimental album with brass after Beady Eye were praised for trying something different with songs like Flick and Second Bite.

Bunch of jokers on here! I didnt literally mean that Noel sat down and went out of his way to copy Liam or Beady Eye, just that there are some definite similarities in the songs I mentioned.

I also think The Mexican sounds somehow similar to Wind Up Dream, but not as "good". At least in the first half of it. Actually prefer the latter if I have to listen through the whole song, but I have to say the second half of The Mexican is not too bad.

Here's the similar parts of TMOS and YKWCGB (the lyrics and rhythm): instaud.io/5O1Well there you go, irrefutable evidence that Noel was inspired by the master songsmith Liam. I mean Liam stole that line from Jumpin' Jack Flash and it's far more likely that Noel was inspired by the Stones, but yes he must've been inspired by Liam. That's the only possible explanation!

You should read more carefully. I never said Noel copied Liam. The exact words I used were "The drums and the chorus rhythm in YKWCGB are indeed rather similar to TMOS, but I doubt it was intentional." I just find the similarity amusing.

He never used a woman backing singer (LTLSALOM) until Beady Eye did (BTL)
He never used the delay effect on his voice (EOTT) until Beady Eye did (TMS)
