Someone with the knowloedge would edit the album version of LOCK ALL THE DOORS with liam singing the chorus extracted from the demo we all know about?

I've just had a quick go at it but it really doesn't sound great. If you OOPS the Noel version you can create a pretty good instrumental but it's almost impossible to isolate Liam's vocal for the '93 version. If an instrumental version of this existed then it would be fairly simple but I'm pretty sure this is the only recording we have. Maybe davidjay can confirm? Aside from that it's just a matter of changing the key/tempo of the '93 version to fit the new version. |

This is what I've managed to come up with so far.
I'll polish it up a bit, try and master it properly later on and hopefully get the whole track uploaded.

You're right, the version of Lock All the Doors on the 'Oasis in Boardwalk Basement' tape is the only version recorded by Oasis that's in circulation. There's no instrumental or alternate mix out there, as far as I know. I was talking about that early demo tape with Tom S recently and he explained to me that, as well as Liam's vocal being manually double tracked, both channels appear to have a chorusing effect applied. This has the effect of thickening the two vocal takes, which are panned left and right. My thanks again to Tom for sharing this info. |

Right, here is the finished effort (until I come up with something better.)
With my non-existent mastering knowledge I've almost managed to create a level volume and pretty good transitions between the two songs, although there are a couple of iffy moments. You can put that down to destructive interference, my limited editing skills and Tony's drumming. I'm using Dailymotion after Youtube has failed me with ridiculous copyright claims *goes off on Liam style rant about Google getting too big for its boots.
I used these tools and this method if anyone else wants to have a go.
Audacity (obviously)
Logic Pro
Fission
FFMpeg
OOPS the choruses of Noel's version;
Change the tempo and key of Liam's version to match the Liam version;
Add the choruses of the new Liam version over the top of Noel's version;
Fine tune the placement to get an exact match (very frustrating);
Fade Liam's version in and out where appropriate and add EQ;
Export as a single track and add compression to Liam's parts to create a level volume;
Add any extra effects or compression that you feel would benefit the track.

It won't let me upload it as unlisted ever since the 'Dying Of The Light Demo' got taken down. Even if I upload it as 'Untitled' a copyright claim appears immediately.

Have you tried lowering Noel instead of raising Liam? He sounds a bit like a chipmunk but maybe that's better than Noel sounding like Barry White, idk. Good job though.

I did try it that way but I think it sounded more natural to have Liam sounding how he does than Noel sounding too low. There's quite a good happy medium when the pitch is lowered by around 2.5% so I'll see if I can get that uploaded somewhere. Then everyone can decide which is their favourite. |

Right, here is the final version. I don't think I can improve it any more. The original '93 riff didn't come out well in the verse because of the volume differences and I have actually taken Spud's advice and changed the pitch of Noel's version so Liam doesn't sound so helium-y.
