I have felt no disappointment whatsoever from Noel. he is delivering the goods on every level.
every song released is a gem, b-sides, remixes...
the set lists at every gig are literally like a dream, and the stage production looks amazing. I can't wait to experience it when he comes to the US.
production on the record is amazing and better than his last record. in particular I think added some lady singers and saxophones to the HFB mix has really kept it interesting, but still rocking.
He has matured artistically (who thought it was possible for a 45 year old songwriter?? well it is)
singing is great, clothes are cool, interviews and commentary are hilarious, he has upped his game on every level. I am proud to be an oasis/ NGHFB fan. It has been a good year so far and he's been really generous to the fans, almost feels like when we say "no more IGTBF as the opener!" he has his finger on the pulse and throws in DTD as the opener. amazing.
really a great time to be a fan of Noel as an artist.

This may sound weird, but even though Noel may have hit his commercial peak decades ago, I think his artistic peak is still ahead or him, only because he was stuck in his Oasis comfort zone playing it safe for so long, and now he has the freedom to experiment more and figure out what suits him. With every record he makes he's finding more and more ways to evolve his songwriting while still holding on to the core staples that have always made it great. It feels like someone has awoken a slumbering giant, and now that he's starting to find his footing as a solo artist, the best is yet to come.

Off topic, but do you guys think Noel will still have the same stage/backdrop when he comes to the US? It'd be so cool to see those really cool images

The only disappointment has been Noel's choice in jeans at times. Like those damn red pants he wore a couple times..

Really can't fault Noel post Oasis, he's gone from being in a dieing band in my eyes with whom I was disillusioned and bored with into a highly successful solo artist who I'm excited to see live and hear new stuff from. It really shows the talent he has (when he can be bothered). The gig on Saturday was like a real breath of fresh air and a brand new artist doing it.

It's miles better than the last tour--visually interesting but not overwhelming, and they create atmosphere. I'm just disappointed that the choir won't be with him.

Next time he needs to do something very different IMO. Right Stuff did that a little bit. Would be nice see that!

His music composition his improved a lot, he has come a long way. I really love The Right Stuff, it sounds almost like something from a film score. I hope we get the instrumentals because there is a lot going on behind the vocals on this record.
BTW I know Noel was a bit iffy about producing his own album but I think he did a great job. The only downside I feel is that he wont tour Australia for the record which really sucks.

Honestly think he's played it too safe with this record. But that's my opinion, i'm not sure it would be shared by the masses. Noel is clearly still interested in being liked by the most amount of people possible, so if he uses his set formula to sell those records, with only minor tweaks, then so be it.

If THAT was what he was concerned about he'd still be in Oasis. I don't think he cares at all on the number of people that like him, he just wants to put out music that he likes, and this is the kind of music he likes.
