It's all a matter of perception. Liam's hardcore fans don't tend to go and read through the comments on Noel's Facebook page (or whatever) and viceversa, so of course everybody thinks their idol is under attack, when the reality is that people are a bunch of idiots who love complaining and winding other people up, and the Internet gives them a voice. Not to mention that everybody tends to take it more personally when something they love is under criticism. Can't agree more. Facebook and social media are full of hate. Tons of keyboard warriors and fucking idiots. |

Ah, see. I would have liked to have had this discussion in that thread because I do think we have a lot in common in this regard. The points that you gave are exactly the same points that I have - I'm not interested and I don't have time. And I see your point about going to rihann4eva (is that...a real site?) but I suppose here's my response to that. I am already here because I am a fan of Oasis. And I joined because I am excited about Noel's new album. I didn't go out of my way to create a thread about what's wrong with Liam's album. There was already one there so I thought it was an okay space to share my views. I honestly would have NEVER created a thread on the subject myself and I truly thought I was just engaged in a conversation with people who were asking me questions and I was giving my answers to those questions. Once it became clear that people were frustrated with my responses, I stopped entirely. You obviously don't like Liam. But why post on a Liam thread about how bad his album is, if you are not even prepared to listen to it first to form an opinion? That is probably one of the dumbest things I've read on a forum for a while. I agree. In the same sense, it's dumb to order one thing off the menu at a restaurant and not order the other things because you shouldn't not order the other things if you've never tried them before. |

Twitter and Facebook comments, especially, are shocking. Message boards like this one tend to be "more civilized" in a way, because it looks like a community, a family. We kinda "know" each other wheareas those other two platforms are like shoot the first guy you see. |

To be fair I am not bothered by his comments. I’ve enjoyed Liam’s album and I hope to enjoy Noel’s new album. On top of this I have tickets to see them both so am completely on the fence.
Liam could be playing the media very well with saying how much he misses Noel and would reform oasis tomorrow, only he knows if it’s true. I hope it’s al true.
Noel on the other hand is coming across very very distant at present. Right now I have no interest in reading or listening to his interviews. In the past he has always come across as the stronger brother but his recent comments towards Liam are of a man who sounds rattled to me.
