Seen a mixed reaction towards the 'Na na na na na' part of In the heat of the moment. Thought I'd use a poll to see what the balance was. Personally I don't mind them.

Hated them at first, but they grew on me. Listened to the mix someone made where they were taken out and now I can't live without them.

They're catchy and they play a main part in the song. The song is nothing without the first verse and the na nas. I bet the haters will be the ones belting it out loudest at the shows

Should have been horns, but I can't imagine the song without them.

I really like the way the guitarist in this cover replaces them with a riff:

At first, I hated them and wasn't too fond of ITHOTM in general. But as I listened to it in the context of the album a lot, the song itself grew on me as well as the Nananas. I think they might have potential to be fun live, if the crowd sings them!

it's too little girl taunting for me. I like the song otherwise. but that is a bit teeth grading! haha

Same - I skipped ITHOTM the first few times I listened to the album because I knew it and didn't like it that much, but in its position on the album it works really well.

If the nananas were switched with a guitar/horn solo with the same melody the song would be up there among the 5 best on the album. My opinion anyway

I like them overall. Didn't Noel say he tried multiple different instruments out first before singing the "Na, na, na, na, naa" lines?
I have a hard time hearing a decent guitar line that replicates that melody and improve upon Noel singing it. Horns would have been terrible in my opinion. They would be too triumphant in sound if they followed that melody and would have ended up sounding like something out of 'Round Are Way', probably the most dated sounding song in the Oasis/Noel discography.
