I don't understand, why so many members hate this song! I have to say, that I really love this song since I heard it the first time (in 2000 I think)!!! Thing the new recorded version is really great! Maybe we will have in a live version a better/louder guitar solo. Cross my fingers, that it's in the setlist...!

I like it too, but... does this deserves a whole new thread?

I never liked the demo, I thought it was boring, plodding and completely forgettable. I was kind of annoyed it was part of the 15 tracks, but I have to admit Noel's really freshened it up and I actually quite like the final version a lot now. It's not as good as any of the exceptional album tracks imo but it's a good song. It definitely stands above Noel's similar songs (RM, Carry Us All, Just Getting Older, One Way Road etc)

It's definitely better than the demo but there's a couple of bits of the vocal delivery I'm not into - "some-where"is annoying

The chorus on the album version is great especially the backing vocals and the bass line, but unfortunately the rest of it sounds like a christian pop song. The demo is much better.

Boring. Very Christian rock, glad it never made it onto an album!

I'm not sold, CY version just sounds a bit wimpy.

idk if this is common knowledge yet or not, but apparently Revolution Song will be the b-side to The Ballad Of The Mighty I

I'm not sold, CY version just sounds a bit wimpy. This is kinda of how I feel about it. It seems to lack any sort of punch and is just kind of there. I dont hate it. I just don't think it's a very strong song to begin with.

Just heard this now for the first time. My ears just orgasmed. I just had a full blown eargasm. FACT.
But Noel, why you no solo?

Boring. Very Christian rock, glad it never made it onto an album! Sounds like Sardy to my ears - did he produce the track? I should check... I loved the original, bit of a take on Let it Be at times, but a good Oasis rarity. This final version is okay but sounds very typical of the sugar coated over-produced moments of the first album (like how Record Machine ended up!)

Maybe the best song recently. And even if it's not better than the demo it's still 1000 times better than ITHOTM. God, I still don't understand why that even is a single, most annoying song Noel recorded ever. BAD decisions!
Just my opinion.

I have JUST today had a "HOLY FUCK, this is amazing" moment with this song.
I'm a massive fan of the demo and was sorely disappointed with this produced version until I listened to the album on shuffle on the subway this morning....and it came on... Absolutely amazing! Love it. A grower that has grown!

I'm really surprised that there seems to be a bit of a negative reaction to the b-side version. I think it's better than the demo; it has so much more going on in it. Whereas the demo it's kind of middle-of-the-road and isn't one of my favorites. The production on the b-side version alone elevates the song.

I'm actually liking the instrumental part, in place of the solo. It makes it more ethereal. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason, in all honesty. Kind of reminds me of Can You See It Now.
Revolution Song and Freaky Teeth should have been on the album.
