So now that all the songs are available and have been heard by most of us, would you change any of the tracks from the album listing? Using the the B sides or a new song all together.
Current listing
1. Riverman 2. In the heat of the moment 3. The girl with the x-ray eyes 4. Lock all the doors 5. The dying of the light 6. The right stuff 7. While the song remains the same 8. The Mexican 9. You know we can't go back 10. The ballad of the mighty I
B sides:
Do the damage Revolution song Freaky teeth Leave my guitar alone New song

Freaky teeth for The Mexican. Actually, that will be my Chasing Yesterday playlist. It would fulfill the same function Noel wanted for The Mexican ( lightening the tone of the album after three "heavy" songs in a row ), but it is a much better song, imo

Do the Damage, instead of the Mexican

I'd put Do The Damage in for The Mexican, and add Freaky Teeth and Revolution Song to make 12 tracks. The Mexican and Leave My Guitar Alone would be bonus tracks. Noel claims to have shelves full of song ideas...so why cut the initial album short at 10 tracks? Come on now.

I would put either Do The Damage or Freaky Teeth in The Mexican's place, but purely because I'm not a huge fan of it and like those two better. I'm not sure if the album would still flow as well as it does now.

1. Do the Damage 2. Riverman 3. In the Heat of the Moment (Rob's mix without the NaNaNas) 4. Alone on the Rope (I know it is not from this session, but it was homeless and works here) 5. Lock All the Doors 6. The Dying of the Light 7. Leave My Guitar Alone 8. The Right Stuff [instrumental] (Thanks to Jim's blog) 9. While the Song Remains the Same 10. Freaky Teeth 11. You Know We Can't Go Back 12. Ballad of the Mighty I

On the Alone On The Rope thread I stated hope depressing it is that we have all of the b sides so I wish Noel had recorded more songs. With that said I especially wish he recorded Just Let It Come Down Over Me. I quite like the flow of CY and would leave it as is.

This is the first Gallagher related album in a long time where I'm actually fine with the final running order. Sure I'm not a huuuuuge fan of "The Mexican" but it kinda works for the overall feel of the record. Trust me, I love "Do The Damage" and "Freaky Teeth" more but they don't give me the same vibes once added to Chasing Yesterday.

I wouldn't change the track listing and here's why.
I see around 45 minutes as the perfect album running time. Firstly it means that it can fit on one vinyl record. I don't know why that's important to me but it just is. This album in particular feels just slightly too short and that's a good thing. It makes you want to listen to it again and again. If you get an album where you're bored or you want it to finish then it's too long based on the quality of the tracks.
Some of you are saying that you would swap out the Mexican for Do The Damage. Whilst it is probably my least favourite on the album, I do still like the song. Do The Damage doesn't work that well towards the end of the record.
As far as the other songs go, neither of them are new. I want an album with as many new songs as possible. Lock All the Doors works perfectly as it is and is a great throwback to Oasis, but one song should be enough.
I know that these days you can switch the track listing around, add new songs and essentially create your own album based on your own personal tastes. But there's something really satisfying about holding the record, looking at the track listing and playing the album for what it is and as the artist intended.

NOt sure why most don't seem keen on The Mexican, really like it.
Wouldn't change anything on the album, think its right length, and the right songs chosen for the flow of the album. If had to id maybe swap YKWCGB for Revolution Song, but for me the album is so strong as it is.

By the way i'll probably get the japanese CD tomorrow so i'll be able to tell you all the production credits.

One of the few albums where I actually think the current track list is pretty solid. I would make a couple changes though, one being I believe that 'While the song Remains the Same' and 'You Know We can't go Back' should definitely be back to back on the album given there meanings. And i've listed my single choices as well with respective b-sides that I think fit)
1. Riverman 2. In the Heat of the Moment (SINGLE #1, b-side Do the Damage) 3. The Girl with the X-Ray Eyes 4. Lock All the Doors (SINGLE #3, b-side The Mexican) 5. The Dying of the Light 6. The Right Stuff 7. Freaky Teeth 8. While the Song Remains the Same 9. You Know We Can't Go Back (SINGLE #4, b-side Leave My Guitar Alone) 10. Ballad of the Mighty I (SINGLE #2, b-side Revolution Song)

Don't understand the hatred for The Mexican, solid tune, way better than The Right Stuff. I'd bin TRS and WTSRTS off it and put on DTD and RS, keep them as b-sides. Bored of Freaky Teeth, wouldn't have it on the record. Don't even want it as a b-side cos it's connected to the HFB's record/DVD/tour/era.

Would've preferred Changing Yesterday as the title of the record, tbh.

I would have opened with The Ballad of the Mighty I with a slightly longer intro and moved Riverman dead last.
