(can't verify email's content yet, webby) seems to be a fake ------------------------------------------------------------------------
I caught wind that Noel would be playing a warm-up gig in London last night from a friend of mine.
Noel and Gem did show up at the pub area at the Old Red Lion Theatre on St. John St. in London.
They went on stage at 9.00, and played for about an hour to 40-50 people.
Some highlights:
- ‘Stop The Clocks’ was played!! Excellent song… nice lyrics…. GREAT melody and a decent solo.
- ‘Let’s All Make Believe’ sounded incredible, as did ‘The Masterplan’.
- Noel’s string broke during ‘Whatever’, so Gem continued to play and Noel just sang for the rest of the song.
Set list:
1. (It’s Good) To Be Free 2. The Importance of Being Idle 3. Live Forever 4. Talk Tonight 5. Stop The Clocks 6. Slide Away 7. Let’s All Make Believe 8. Half The World Away 9. Whatever 10. Don’t Look Back In Anger 11. The Masterplan 12. Champagne Supernova
Noel played acoustic guitar on all songs.
Gem played acoustic on most songs, except the following songs where he played his cream coloured Telecaster, adding very warm, mellow, and highly reverberated lead sounds on:
The Importance of Being Idle Live Forever Stop The Clocks Slide Away The Masterplan Champagne Supernova
Cheers,
Karl

Very interesting. Hopefully more info surfaces about this gig soon. If not, we'll find out if it's true come the Lord Don't Slow Me Down screenings/Unplugged shows.

Probably wasting my time and looking stupid in the process, but I just e-mailed the Theatre to see if there was any truth to this. I'm not holding my breath because it probably isn't.

It was looking preety possible to me, until I read Let's All Make Believe... c'mon, the day Noel play live that song, and sing it with an acoustic guitar heavens will fall.... and Champagne Supernova acoustic with Noel singing also sounds pure bullshit

Just thought I'd put this bullshit to rest.
