It's really annoying me that he's getting confused between Comin' On Strong and Lock All The Doors. Comin' On Strong was the song that he gave to the Chemical Brothers. Yes. The instrumentation on the verses of this sounds a bit like Setting Sun though. Just try to sing the verses over it. It's like he mixed the two up a bit. It's a bit stupid that not a single magazine has picked up on that though, I agree on that. But you know, journalists are pretty lazy

Because COS is the song SS originated from, obviously. Except from the chorus. And I think that's what caused confusion on here. But of course it wouldn't make sense to call a song Lock All The Doors if it didn't habe the chorus of the actual song but the chorus of Comin' On Strong so I have no idea why anyone was confused in the first place.

It seems that Noel is always having trouble recoding the drums. Perhaps ditch the drummer Noel!

I don't buy this "I've gone back to it for every album" about Lock All The Doors It also isn't in line with the whole "I came out of Tesco's, walked past Boots and all of a sudden I remembered this song" Bullshit. I'm quite sure that he remembered Lock All the Doors because of the demo tape that NoelsOasis bought with the help of some of us two years ago Somebody from his management probably told him about LATD and Comin' On Strong when they got online, and he might have said: "Fuckin' hell, this is a great chorus. I'll record a proper version of this tune" So, we should thank this forum if we got a finished version of Lock Al the Doors...

Yeah probably. It's either he didn't remember and is bullshitting about going back to it every album or he remembered it and is bullshitting about suddenly remembering it.
I always thought myself that he rediscovered it while going through stuff for the DM reissue.

He seems quite fair with the AA in those videos. At least he acknowledges them as having the initial idea for The Right Stuff and The Mexican.
I'd kill to hear the extended version of TRS.

What he says about While The Song Remains The Same makes it that much better to me now. It's good to know puts some actual thought into what the songs are about, at least sometimes...

My theory about Lock All The Doors is that eventually Noel used the verse of Coming on Strong and the chorus of Lock All The Doors as we know them from 92 recording, to shape a complete song called "Lock All The Doors", and that song is the one he gave to the Chemical Brothers, that's why he says they used only the verse of that song.... I don't think he can't get too confused if he considers them 2 different songs...

Funny how Noel in the interviews at the last record period was saying that he wanted to get Johnny Marr to play on AKA Broken Arrow because it sounded like The Smiths and now he's claming constantly that he wanted him to play on What A Life

I do however remember him saying that about What A Life.

Don't remember anything about him going to be on Broken Arrow, but I do remember WAL.
Why should he be on Broken Arrow? Doesn't have a lot of those guitarbits WAL and Mighty I have.
