I'm pretty sure Noel mentioned having recorded Revolution Song again around the time of the release of NGHFB. Maybe the requests for the song finally convinced him to put it out, but it's not like he had totally forgotten about it. To me the production sounds a lot more HFB than CY, so it wouldn't surprise me if at least the music was tracked during the HFB sessions. Was probably then mixed and thrown on here as a bonus.

Does anyone know what inspired Noel to play Riverman in the way he does? It sounds like a Brian Proteroe song, but I'm not sure which one...

Just watched the Riverman one, as I saw Noel doing the gesture of fingerpicking, I was wondering if we've ever seen Noel actually playing that kind of stuff on guitar. I didn't know he could do that.

Noel's Morrissey story is becoming his Mickey Mantle hunting story with Billy Martin.

I remember him saying he got Andy to play the bit coming off the end of The Turning - the Dear Prudence bit - because he had 'the fingerpicking style'. Maybe Noel's learned how to do it since.

To be fair, this sounds like its 1:1 the interview some magazines have printed, and people keep asking him again and again...how many different stories are there to his songs?

I'll be asking for 'The Red, White and Blue' I'm convinced that in 10-15 years time we will get an insane anthology issue with loads of things nobody has "heard" before. Treasures from the past so to speak. That's gotta be the reason songs like "Setting Sun" and "Lock All The Doors" weren't on the DM reissue. Gotta save the REAL goodies for the future anthology which will probably be 3 CDs. Lord knows Noel has plenty of material to pick from.

I don't buy this "I've gone back to it for every album" about Lock All The Doors
It also isn't in line with the whole "I came out of Tesco's, walked past Boots and all of a sudden I remembered this song"

It's really annoying me that he's getting confused between Comin' On Strong and Lock All The Doors. Comin' On Strong was the song that he gave to the Chemical Brothers.

The verse melody sounds a bit like Setting Sun.
