What about the Nature of Reality? Would that just be a non-album single? That would have been flushed down the toilet or appeared on a future Beady Eye album sadly.  You can't just bin a song of that quality. Maybe it could be a double A-side with Ain't Got Nothin'. |

Liam did write some decent tunes, but all his songs just sound like 60s rip offs. It got tiresome very quickly for me. There are only so many times I could listen to Liam trying to be Lennon.
One thing I am very sure about is that Liam needed a lot of help from the others to produce the final songs. Maybe he had some ideas but I'm pretty sure left to himself, Liam would find it very hard to finish a song.
Perhaps when writing Liam could feel that this space could be filled by a solo but would Liam be able to write that solo? I've seen no evidence that Liam's guitar skills are above very basic chords.

Narrowminded in musical taste? Habe you listenend to Andy Bells DJ sets? Hip hop, shoegaze, surf, boogie, psychedelic, blues, rock, Jazz and some Soundtrack samples. This guy is not narrow minded in music. I Really like how many members here talk so rude about members of a Band they like, like they know them personally and really well. They probably talk so rude about him because his Oasis songs were terrible. So we're his Ride songs to be honest. yeah in your opinion. I wish Oasis would have ever created such interesting sounds like Ride did on the first two records. |

Although I don't rate Gem as a songwriter, I can't believe people think Liam is capable of solo career but not Gem. In what way is Liam a better musician than Gem? All that Liam has over Gem is his name. In terms of pure musicality, Gem is head and shoulders above Liam. Liam's tunes are better. Being a good musician and being a good songwriter do not necessarily go together. The Roller is probably the best and definitely the most famous song Beady Eye released. A Gem song. Anyway, even if we say that Liam has better tunes, no way is he so vastly superior to Gem that he should have a solo career and not Gem. If Liam is capable of such, then Gem definitely is too. They're the same mold of songwriter - average. And Gem is vastly superior at guitar. So really, the only thing that Liam definitely has over Gem is his name. |

Liam will never be as good at guitar as Gem but he possess the better musical instrument in his voice. The Roller is a good tune but Liam's songs in my opinion are generally of a higher standard. All these things make it more likely that and more obvious that he would have the solo career. |
