I was really debating not doing this but what the hell... let's compare the two albums y'all! Now, I put together songs that I think could fit together in terms of either sounding the same, the story behind them, and just the typical direction of the song. If any of you have a better suggestion to what songs could be compared to each other, let me know, and I'll take it into consideration. This is just for fun so don't bash the topic or get all offended. If you don't like it or don't agree on the matter then just simply don't participate. Not an easy task... some of them are really, really close in my opinion. - Everybody's On The Run
vs. Riverman (but Riverman is a great track)
Dream On vs. You Know We Can't Go Back (this is an easy one)
If I Had A Gun... vs. The Dying Of The Light (another easy one)
- The Death Of You And Me
vs. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes (not a super-fan of X-Ray Eyes at the moment...)
(I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine vs. Lock All The Doors (I like RM but LATD is pure power...)
AKA... What A Life! vs. Ballad Of The Mighty I (close call, but Mighty I feels more "complete" as a song)
Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks vs. In The Heat Of The Moment (another close one, I'll go with ITHOTM because of the addictive chorus)
- AKA... Broken Arrow
vs. The Mexican (easy, Broken Arrow is still one of my favorite HFB songs)
(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach vs. While The Song Remains The Same (I love SOTWB but WTSRTS is in another league)
Stop The Clocks vs. The Right Stuff (easily)
So, that's 3 from NGHFB and 7 from Chasing Yesterday |

Everybody's On The Run Vs Riverman = Riverman (Though, I do think that Everybody's On The Run is a better album opener but Riverman is edging it as a better song)
Dream On Vs You Know We Can't Go Back = You Know We Can't Go Back (Like its a contest, YKWCGB is by far miles ahead in quality)
If I Had A Gun Vs The Dying Of The Light = The Dying Of The Light (Another that isn't a contest, If I Had A Gun is just a little bit of a drag and a little boring tbh)
The Death Of You And Me Vs The Girl With X-Ray Eyes = The Death Of You And Me (Hardest of the lot for me as I really rate the pair of them, but I had to go with TDOYAM due to the fact I really highly rate it and, for me, it's near the top of the best songs on the debut album)
(I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine Vs Lock All The Doors = Lock All The Doors (No contest, never really 100% rated Record Machine, nothing really happens in it in my mind)
AkA What A life Vs The Ballad Of The Mighty I = AKA...What A Life (tough one because TBOTMI has started to really grow on me more and more)
Solder Boys and Jesus Freaks Vs In The Heat Of The Moment = In The Heat Of The Moment (No contest again, never ever rated SBAJF)
AKA Broken Arrow Vs The Mexican = AkA...Broken Arrow (Do like The Mexican, however I have always enjoyed Broken Arrow, think it's possibly the best on the debut)
(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach Vs While The Song Remains The Same = While The Song Remains The Same (I do like (SO)TWB but WTSRTS just edges it)
Stop The Clocks Vs The Right Stuff = Stop The Clocks (Hard due to the fact I don't rate either tbh but STC is alright for an album closer)
