Chicago, IL (AHN) - Andy Taylor, the guitarist for the 80s group Duran Duran has reportedly split with the band during the U.S. leg of their world tour. The band whose front man is Simon Le Bon said in a statement described their relationship with Andy Taylor as unworkable and one that could not be resolved.
Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and John and Roger Taylor, said a "gulf" had developed between the group which hindered them from working effectively together.
Session guitarist Dan Brown, who worked with artists including Sir Elton John, Liam Gallagher and the Sugababes has reportedly replaced guitarist Taylor.
The BBC quotes a statement from the band as saying, "Although obviously disappointed and saddened about this, we are excited about the next chapter of the Duran Duran story."
Gerard Franklin, the group's spokesman said the tour will continue and the band will continue recording after the tour wraps up on November 11th.
Duran Duran's new album is expected to be released early next year.
