Well a couple of days have passed, many listenings have been paid, so by now we should have noticed which ones are the growers.

I must confess that I only listened twice to the leak and the deleted it, not because I dont liked it. But, because it is such a special album that I want to hear it in its full glory whenever I can get a better quality version of the album and not tarnish it with a low quality version.

X-Ray Eyes. It went from the 2nd o least liked song to one of the tops. Can't get that song out of my head.
I'm coming around to While The Song Remains The Same the more I listen to it. And I'm enjoying the chorus in The Mexican.

While the Song Remains the Same and The Girl With X-Ray Eyes
While the Song Remains the Same didn't take too long to grow on me, but with X-Ray Eyes I've finally come to appreciate the instrumentation more than anything. I still don't really dig the structure of it but it does have a nice solo that keeps me coming back from time to time. My least favorite is probably the Mexican. It's just too throwaway to me, even though it's completely harmless. Kinda in the same vain as In the Heat of the Moment.

My wife - after two or three listens - said she didn't think any of it "was growing on her".
A day later and she's been playing THE DYING OF THE LIGHT over and over and over again.

WTSRTS for me, I didn't like it at first then it grew on me after a few listens, it's not classic Noel, reminds me a bit of Falling Down, so I guess that's why it took me a while to appreciate it
X Ray Eyes is a close second, I don't know, it seems like it doesn't really go anywhere, and while at the start I thought that was its weakness, now I think that's what makes the song as beautiful as it is, the melody in the verse is brilliant, it might be one of Noel's best solo tunes

The Mexican.
I hated it at start but now I can tolerate it.
At some point I might even like it.
My opinion on the rest of the album hasn't changed since first listen.

You know you can't go back is really great song. Although it really reminds me something from American punk rock from about 10years ago....something like green day - bowling for the soup style song which I don't mind. Also reminds me of I hope I think I know which is one of my favorite oasis songs. Just my opinion

While the Song Remains the Same must have some tricks Noel learned from Amorphous Androgynous...

I was one who at first listen liked While the Song Remains the Same, cause it did sound like it could've been on HFB1. I also wasn't a big fan You Know We Can't Go Back at first listen, but it has definitely grown on me. I talk Girl with X-Ray Eyes was okay at first listen cause it sounded so much like Hotel California/Space Oddity/Masterplan. I still feel the same way about it but I can tolerate it more than I did before.

The biggest grower for me was Mighty I. All the new songs I liked pretty much the first time I heard them. The Mexican being the only one that I've come to like more. But I've enjoyed Mighty I more and more with each listen since its release.

The Mexican is better than the worst songs of NGHFB (Dream on and SBAJF).

I liked them all a lot on first listen really, none of them have had to grow on me.
