Wow some really interesting guitar solo's on this album. Not over done but fits nicely in the songs... That makes this album different than the last and for me makes it alittle better.

The lack of guitar solos was one of the downsides of NGHFB, in my opinion... I'm glad he has rediscovered the electric guitar I mean, I didn't want any Van Halen/Vai/Satriani kind of solo... I wanted to have some nice guitar touches here and there and that's what we got in Chasing Yesterday: simple and emotional little guitar breaks...

The one in Riverman is amazing and the one in The Dying Of The Light is one of my favourite Noel solos. I showed Riverman to my brother who always thought Noels work was boring, and he loved it, it reminded him of Santana (the guitar) and a few of his other musical heroes. He immediately wanted to hear the rest of the album.

Even though it's Paul Stacey who is playing lead I guess ;D

Disappointed that Noel didn't play a majority of the solos, but I hope to believe he did on Lock All the Doors.

I couldn't care less whether Noel plays the guitar solos on his songs or not as long as we get stuff as good as Riverman and The Right Stuff. I've been thinking that for years: if he doesn't want to play guitar anymore, he can hire someone to do it. On the other hand, Noel has really underrated his abilities as a guitar player since Be Here Now. I wonder why he became so self-conscious about it considering he played some really good solos such as Live Forever and DLBIA.

Yeah I don't get that either. While he's no virtuoso by any means, he is a competent player and has come up with some awesome solos.

Lead guitar in CY resembles that of late 60s early 70s, some licks and strokes here and there.
He kind of quitted the pentatonic loops he used and overused in oasis. Which works well in the wall of sound concept.

Best guitar solos since be here now, I would say roll it over even though that's not him playing it but it's still the goods. As for this album, you know we can't go back lead is perfect, nothing too crazy but it fits the song and builds up the emotion of the song nicely
